Her Life

Forever In Our Hearts

September 17, 2016

On my sister's passing she left behind a mother, three sisters and a brother. A loving husband, daughter and one grandson. Early in our lives when as we were growing up we had the opportunity to live in the United States and over seas. We were what you could call military brats. Our Father in listed in the Air Force. He retired after 20 years of service. My sister's and brother had the opportunity to experience life and other cultures. Being in the military we moved a lot. My three sisters and brother are older than me which made me the baby. Anita and her older sister Debbie graduated in Japan. That was pretty cool for them. The last place our family was stationed at was in Maine at Loving Air Force Base. This is where Anita met her future husband Eb Stress. He got stationed in Spain and went alone to find a place for himself and Anita. She followed him there at a later date. They had a daughter who was born in Spain. After his time in the Air Force they moved to Rome, Georgia  settled near Anita's mom and dad. Eb got a job at Plant Bowen where he has been retired for two years after working there for thirty years. There daughter is a school teacher and her grandson attends college. Eb and Anita loved to ride their motorcycle's ( Harley Davidson's). They joined a motorcycle club and rode to raise money for the March of Dimes. Anita stood 5ft. tall and 100 lbs. soaking wet. It was a sight to see her on her beloved Harley. She worked at Shaw Industry fot many years, often working long hours. She had perfect attendance. She was respected and loved by her coworkers. She was a lady of many talents. A beautiful and generous soul. She loved her doing her artwork, very artistic and talented. From making jewelry, oil painting. airbrushing symbols on her grandson's baseball helmets and the teams. Glass etching and handmade cards for those she loved. I have never seen such beautiful cards sold in any store. She loved to jog and ran in many different races each year. She had many nice ribbons that would of made me proud. I believe she was the glue that kept herself and her siblings together. She was strong, vibrant and so beautiful. Always putting others before herself. We gathered around her as she became ill. A tumor they said. She lived for nine months as her husband loving her much he hardly left her side. I will always cherish the nights l stayed with her at the hospital staying up late talking about all the places we had lived. She came home as her time drew near. She left us one morning with two loving sister's by her side. Gone but not forgotten, sister's forever and dearly loved.
