That's the day that I was born. That's the day that YOU became my "big" sister. The story goes that you weren't very excited about having a baby sister but when mom came home without me, you were very upset. When I finally did come home, you didn't leave my side.

Even before we were old enough to know, we became best friends. There are so many stories. We boo boopped up and down the stairs, we "drove" mom's car and then ran and hid and watched it roll it into the street, na-na-na na-na-naing (to the tune of the slinky theme song) really quiet and then REALLY loudly while laying in the bunk beds, tying up the dog so we could go get yogurt, sampling every single perfume sample at Wal-Mart and having to walk home. Oh my gosh, we had so much fun!

As adults we took road trips, we picked out presents for "our" husband, we filled Easter baskets and wrapped Christmas presents for our kiddos, we cooked meals and tricked a friend into eating mushrooms, you listened to me when it seemed nobody else cared, we wore black to family events to symbolize that we were the "black sheep", we laughed and cried when we went to see Granny before she passed.

There were so many more things we were supposed to do. We were supposed to trick the nurses at the nursing homes, we were supposed to travel when our kiddos moved out (no other countries for you!), we were supposed to plan graduation and wedding parties together, we were supposed to watch Mom and Pops grow old together. You won't be here for those anymore, and while I know I won't be alone, I won't have my best friend.

You were a great "big" sister. You were a great best friend. I miss you more then words can say and I love you just as much.
