Thinking of you Tom, Jackie, Ciara, Kendra and families. I offer my sincere sympathy in the loss of your wife, mom, grandmother. I want to share a humorous memory.
When Grandma Al moved into her new Hallcrest home, Anne asked if I would fly down and help them set up the house. I was quite excited and happy to do so. So, after a day or so, we are awaiting the furniture which was due to be there around 5 pm. Well nothing showed up til about 9 pm. Two very scary dudes arrived in a big rig and began to install sofas, chairs and dressers. Now it's dark out and the "boys" bring in a few items and then they go back in the truck for what seems like way too long. They resume the moving but look pretty "wasted" and are getting a bit testy. Anne pulls me aside and says that she has 2 big kitchen butcher knives that we need to use if necessary to protect ourselves and Gram against these thugs. By then, we had a bit of wine and were feeling pretty brave. Well, as you know, the furniture got delivered and the "boys" left around midnight. But those few hours worrying and plotting with Anne to take on the enemy was really exciting and looking back; a freaking "riot"! Thanks Anne for a great adventure. God bless you.
