Poem written for mom about 1950?

April 7, 2019

Here's a gem we found in a hidden bottom of your jewelry box Mom, and you hardly ever drank, but you obviously did some in your youth!

Thank you Lester wherever you are!:

ANNIE

This is of Annie a girl I did meet,
She's from Coon Rapids Iowa, a place hard to beat.

she came to Colorado, to find herself a mate,
Leaving for good, that corny ol state.

Now living in Denver, and being with the civilized,
Memories of Coon Rapids, will always arise.

She claims it a place as Heaven as to be,
Never realizing before, There's Minnesota to see.

It's a nice little town, with an old hitching rail,
Just buy you a horse, and end up in jail.

She likes this little town, even though it is waste
But to Denver she came, with much great haste.

She's a nice Little gal, just barely five feet,
A cool little character, for anyone to meet.

Just one drink of vodka, and she's living it up
One hand on the table, The other the cup.

Now being this way, she's one big charm,
Doing the polka, in every anyone's arms.

Now the dignity of her, was ruined last week,
When over the table, she went with her feet.

I don't care what she does, at home or away,
Cause she's A cute little gal, from COON RAPIDS way.

MOM'S GOODBYE FOR NOW

Thank you Rudy Deacon!

Rudy said to me to be Good, and that's exactly what I'm here to talk about!

-

I want to say thank you all, for your Condolences and well wishes.

-

Please PLEASE KIND FOLKS, don’t fall too much,,,  into weeping for my mom, that small town, chicken feeding, cow milking, beautiful girl, from coon rapids Iowa,  Ann,,,  who grew up into the lady that stole my dad's heart in 1956, Yes I got that right, 1956! I mean black and white movies, can you just imagine!!(turn head no

Because mom's suffering is Over, and I DO Believe,,, that she is now on the other side, Young Again! with a NEW and Sexy Youthful and Bodacious,, BodAy!!

Just think about that Dad!!

-SO,, aren’t we here to celebrate her re-birth??

Funerals,, a coming together, of people, a religious event, a rare joining of us of many different religions..

A time for us to, come together, and also speak, of what we have learned, from our departed,,, that has often supported and improved our lives so very much.

I am, going to speak, about just that.

I could have created for you, a long list describing, all the things mom taught me growing up, directly and Indirectly,, also the times she stood behind me and supported me and also taught me compromise and also fairness and justice...

But instead of a list, I have found one simple word I will share with you here.

Now don’t we spend,, much of our lives, looking for the meaning of life,,,, and LOVE,, Sometimes (Sing Quietly:) (Hehe "looking for love in all the wrong places, looking for love in too many faces" ….. Sorry I just, love that song!

GOD, who doesn’t?!

Who has a good story about that, we'll talk!? (Hehe

I don't know if you noticed but, during conversation, oftentimes mom would raise her eye brows and say "Ohh Really",(Mimic) with this Perfect lit up surprise of a face.

If fact this charm made Mom one of the favorites of John Christiani, one of mom's coworkers, at the El Paso County Election Dept.

John Loved stopping to talk to Ann in convincing exaggerations, so he could get her expression and reply "Ohhh Really!"

-

God,,,, now, if we add an OO to God, don’t we get, GOOD?

-Isn’t it amazing,, we diverse humans have some 4,300 diverse…..religions in our one world? ALL claiming to have the answers in old books?

Us claiming that our old book is the right one?

Haven’t we seen, that, multiple religions, can separate us from "each other"?

I mean, we have neighbors, Palestine and Israel to show us, the perpetual warring, don’t we?

Well enough said on that, this is about Mom.

Mom and Dad taught me to walk and then stand tall.

-Doesn’t the new generation, have a responsibility, to stand up and improve what is here?

I mean doesn't life evolve, create, strive to perfect?

Well, I am standing here before you!  Naked,,.... Well I feel a bit naked anyway!

Standing here to tell you, that I have seen God.

God the Father And God the Mother, Or should it be God the mother and God the Father? Hmm

Yes, I have seen Good God, in my Mother, my Mom, Ann Mcdaniels.

And I also see Good God, in my Dad.

And I Believe that they saw Good God, just a few years ago, in the Hispanic man who stopped, and helped Mom and Dad, when their car stopped working, in the middle of the Nevada Avenue and Garden of the Gods Road, and gave them a ride, that interesting day, a ride home.

Didn’t we all, see much Good and God in Mom?

So,, I want to say, thank-you, thank-you very much for coming to see…….. God!

And...

Isn’t it interesting how, there are insightful clues in our words we, humans have created?

I mean, Live spelled backwards is,,, (Mimic pinky) DR EVIL (hehe (sorry I just loved that movie)

Evil, yes so the opposite of Evil is to Live and honor all living equally.

And isn’t the sound of uthe word Jesus,, JESUS, JES US, HE’S US, HE IS US, HE IS US, HE IS US, HE IS US!

So in closing, I suggest that God IS here in THIS room, we CAN find God!

NOW won’t you PLEASE join with me and Turn to each of your neighbors and give, the other a hand shake or better yet a nice Good God hug!?

Thank-you!
