Anna Marie was born March 15, 1920 in Monterey to John and Agnes (Wiesen) Kreikemeier. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School, and on August 25, 1943, Anna Marie married John A. Klitz at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Monterey.

The couple farmed three and half miles southwest of Dodge and retired to Dodge in 1977. Anna Marie was a homemaker, caregiver for her husband, and worked part time for a day care in Dodge. Anna Marie was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She raised flowers, played the piano, yodeled, and enjoyed baking, especially cinnamon rolls. Anna Marie moved to Parkview Home in 2006.

Survivors include her sons Donald (Doris) Klitz of Omaha and Richard Klitz of Dodge; daughter Rita Engelhaupt of Pierce; daughter-in-law Anita Klitz of Dodge; sisters Hildegard Harms of West Point, Helen Weitfeld of Leigh, Agnes (Ralph) Ruskamp of Dodge, and Margaret Mendlik of Fremont; grandchildren Patrick Klitz, Brenda Hunke, Amy McNatt, Deanne Stieb, Jodi Engelhaupt, Susan Roberts, Brian Klitz, Gail Hochstein, Jannie Anderson, and Jeanette Klitz; and 17 great-grandchildren. Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 1980; son David in 2006; son-in-law Tom Engelhaupt in 2011; infant sons Marvin and Henry; infant daughter Carolyn; brothers Frank, Aloys, and Leonard Kreikemeier; sister Eleanor Vering; and grandsons John and Joseph Engelhaupt.
