As a second generation native San Franciscan, Anna attended the city's public schools and graduated from the CCSF Dental Assisting Program in 1971. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from SFSU in Health Education, her California Life-Time Teaching Credential from UC Berkeley and her Master of Arts in Educational Technology from SFSU.
As a working Dental Assistant, Anna worked chairside, reception and as an office manager. Besides experience in general dentistry, her experience also included the dental specialties of orthodontics, endodontic, oral surgery and periodontics.
Anna started her career as a dental assisting educator in 1976 at the College of the Redwoods in Eureka and returned to CCSF in 1985, becoming the Director of the Dental Assisting Program.
As a student in CCSF Dental Assisting Program, Anna began her membership and active participation in her professional organizations. She held various offices on local, state and national levels and was President of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) in 2000-2001.
