She was very special in many regards. I had only a brief window into her life but I was always very fond of her. There was expansiveness to her kindness. Rest in peace.

Anna was such a lovely woman, and a blessing to know. So grateful for the years of friendship, and to have had her as our kids' Sunday School teacher.
She was a bright light for the Lord wherever she went. Praying for God's peace for the whole family.

Aunt Anna was the most gentle, kind and graceful woman I’ve ever known. I wasn’t fortunate enough to know her after my childhood years, but she certainly made an impression on me as a little girl. I think we (nieces & nephews) were drawn to her because of her very sincere and delicate nurturing of all children.
A beautiful human being. We all are so grateful to have spent even a portion of our lives knowing such a true and loving soul.
Thank you, Aunt Anna, for introducing me to authentic benevolence. ❤️

Sarah, Anna enjoyed every minute of your visit.  It was good to hear the sound of children enjoying themselves.  The toys and the material were kept so we could entertain children as the adults were visiting.  We've had those toys since our boys were young enough to play with them.  Children were important to her and she didn't want them to be unhappy when they were visiting our home. It was our pleasure to keep them entertained.

Joyce Shuman, what can I say? Yes, I remember when you two decided to tear out the wall.  But, it was on Putter Lane and not on Keith street.  I torn down the wall between the dinning room and the kitchen.  Thurston Hunter help me remold so it didn't look too bad. (No one every made a claim but that I was a softy.)

Yes, there was a camping trip where a skunk was seen in our tent.  I also remember the tent had mold and I didn't want her to stay. She wanted to stay, so we did. (Softy.)  I also remember when I tore down the tent in went into the nearby dumpster.  There was also the trip to Branson we took with you guys.  Wonderful times. Thanks for the memories.

Legacy

Our family had the privilege of visiting Uncle John, Aunt Ann,  anda couple of the kids and grandkids about a month before her passing.  We had a picnic at the beach.  It was such a wonderful visit, and a privilege to witness that god-given gift of hospitality that Aunt Ann possessed.  She thought of everything!  She gave me a big hug, and said the encouraging words that she's said to me each time I've seen her since David and I were just dating.   She insisted on us visiting their apartment within the next day or so.  We did.  She pulled out bins of Sunday School materials and got our 4 youngest kids busy on some delightful crafts, a few which they left for her to enjoy.  I've always considered Aunt Ann a kindred spirit in our love for wholesome books and stories, and I thoroughly enjoyed looking through her library of children's books, as it's a refection of my own.  During that visit, I was able to relay to Aunt Ann how impactful her faith has been in my own faith journey.  If it wasn't for the love of my husband's family, passed down to the next generation, I may have never come to know the Lord, and received salvation.  I will forever cherish that last visit in my heart.

Memories

August 22, 2021
I’ll always remember Anna as someone who loved everyone, she never saw a bad person and had a heart of gold. She had the sweetest spirit of anyone I have ever known, and I’m not just saying that, I really mean it.
John, do you remember when Anna and I were going to remodel your house on Keith street?  We were all set with hammers, crowbars, saws, you name it we were ready to go to work and then you came home. In horror you wanted to know what we were up to. When we told you you said “PUT THOSE TOOLS DOWN!!!  DID IT EVEN OCCUR TO YOU THAT WALL YOUR GETTING READY TO KNOCK DOWN MIGHT BE A SUPPORTING WALL”.  Well we did put the tools down and slinked out of the kitchen (we just wanted to make it bigger). But if I remember correctly you picked up those toolsand immediately fixed that kitchen just the way Anna wanted it. You old softy.
Remember when we went camping and the boys put a stuffed skunk in your tent?
So many fun and sweet memories. We love you all and are praying for you and your family.
