I was going through some boxes in the garage and came upon a huge amount of Phi Delta Kappa stuff. One of the items was a photo of Anna, which I put in a special place that I cannot find now. (Help me Anna!) I NEVER forget Anna. She was my big sister and mentor. I have many fond memories of the time that we were pen pals with our respective classes of students at our respective schools. Sorta the Haves and Have Nots, but it worked. Anna, Charles, Alex and I spent some great times visiting one another, laughing, playing cards, eating. I loved her dearly and miss her terribly! She always knew how to solve a problem and if she didn't, she'd call you back with a few possibilities. In the African tradition, a person does not really die as long as her/his name is spoken. Anna, Anna, ANNA!

3 years today Mom, we all miss you terribly. I know you are close, I feel you often. You have grand babies now. You always told me I would have twin boy's...and well I did ;-) Ryne and Cameron are the best thing ever ;-) I know you know cause I felt you all time when I first brought them home from the hospital. I tell them every night "Grandma  Womack in heaven loves you" I try s hard to be like you but its hard to be perfect. If I can just get the going out with grace thing down ;-) i'd be okay.  I love and miss you bunches.

As we start our 5775th year in the Jewish Calendar I can't help thinking that it is not the number of years that one spends on this Earth but what one does with them.
In Anna's case she accomplished SOOOOOO MUCH in such a short period of time.
The beautiful part of her accomplishments is that she did it by influencing countless number of youngsters many of whom will no doubt make huge contributions to the World-all because Anna was part of their early childhood formation. George Landau

Can it be two years? Norbert and I think of Anna so often. She will always be remembered with love, and as a "good part" of the old Heald College team. Remembering her brings much joy to our hearts. Among many things I still remember how Anna and Charles showed up after work to visit a showing of Gary Bukovnik watercolors in San Francisco. What a gracious lady. I am certain that if we make it to Heaven Anna will come rushing up with her wonderful smile and greet us..Anna is not dead, she is just away.

Anna was the big sister I never had. Over the past 48 years we have had family fun and teaching adventures. It is bitter for me to know that I cannot pick up the phone or send and email to her and get one of her wise replies. Anna will always live in my heart and mind. I didn't know Anna well, but I so appreciated our opportunity to talk following the celebration of the impending marriage of her son and my daughter. As we spoke, it was so clear to me how much she loved Charles and her children. That love will stay with them forever. I wish I could have had the chance to know her better. I know that she will be missed.

Charles and Family -- I am at a loss for words to express the void of Anna's passing. The many tributes to Anna convey the impact she had on family, friends, and colleagues. The memories are many and all precious. I hope the many kind words will bring you peace in this difficult time. Anna was a true friend and one I will miss dearly. Anna, dear friend, rest in peace.

I have opened a jar of Wickles and a box of tissues in honor of my dear friend, mentor and big sister, Anna. I have known her since I was 17. We are Sorors from National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa and former teacher collaborators, wives and mothers. I loved and admired Anna and vowed to be just like her when I grow up. I'll have to settle for being 1/10 of her grace and wisdom. RIP Anna.

People come into our lives at all stages and no matter when they're taken from us it's always too soon. Aunt Ann was a treasure and we will always miss her but she will forever live in our memories and in our hearts.
