Her Life

Anne's Story (or at least in part)

August 5, 2013

There are many special things about Anne. She loved to debate, talk and help others. She loved animals, family and life. It is sad to think I will no longer be able to call her (and listen to her talk), or recieve my birthday call on my voicemail with her singing "happy birthday". Even though it was always off key, I will miss it. The final years of her life were hard and happy. Hard because her illness was finally taking it's toll on her body, but it did not rob her of her tenacious spirit. Joyous because she finally had a home that she could call her own, a dog to share her life with and she was able to be independent as much as possible. She loved all holidays, even the obscure ones, she would dress up, including lighted necklaces and or earrings. She loved to cook for others, even when eating for her became a chore. It gave her such joy to see others eating and enjoying what she had made for them. Anne would gladly give up her last dime if she felt that someone needed it more than she did. She loved to hear from her nieces and nephews, it made her happy and feel connected and envolved with their lives. Anne spent almost all of her adult life sick, but she did her best to keep a smile and trudge through. Anne used to say when she was down, "I give myself 3 days to be down, and then move on." She had friends that she had since high school, that is quite an accomplishment in the time of temporary and disposible "friends". Anne got to travel around the US and Europe. She was married to Bob, before cancer took him. She was loved by many, including Alan, the love her life, until he passed away. Anne walked more people thru the door from life to death, and was happy to do so. One of her fears was that she would die alone, well she did not. Candy, Berina and I were there with her all the way thru to the end. I wanted to share that she pass quietly, peacefully and in no pain. She is now dancing, laughing, and most likely talking, in heaven. She is not in any pain for the first time in decades, and healthy. As time passes and I remember more, I will post more, but for now, this is what I wanted to share. Please leave your stories and memories, Anne would have liked that.
