January 23, 2014

                                                  Treasure every moment

Theres not a day goes by that I don,t think of you Mother, and even though we did,nt always see eye to eye on many things, we did on the things that mattered. We shared many tears but gladly many laughs as well. I may not be able to see you but I know you are watching over me.

Godbless you dear Mother, till we meet again X.

SMILE From Mary

January 23, 2014

                                                       SMILE

When I used to go to Kilkelly to see Mom, I'd stop at her bedroom window and look in to see if see was still in bed. She usually was and as soon as Mom saw me a big smile appeared on her face and I'd go into her room and Mom would give me a big hug and say it'd made her day knowing I was coming over just to spend time with her.
We would just lie in bed, maybe have a cuppa, sometimes fall asleep or watch telly that Dave had set up in her room. Nothing too exciting but to Mom it was great.
But knowing it meant so much to you Mom was the Best feeling ever.

God Bless you Dearest Mom. x

Mother and the Car

January 23, 2014

Mother and the Car

One lasting memory of Mother was the day she ran the old green mini into the turf barn.
You may well think this could happen to anyone. Well read on and we will see. The old fella was back in England picking potatoes, Mother decided after all of one lesson that she was well up to driving the old man's pride and joy into the town (Kilkelly) to do the bit of shopping (in these days very little was shop bought if you could'ant grow it you did'ant need it) Well, of set mother at a steady 25 miles or so and hour, approx 2 hours later you could see the green glint on the horizon and here came dear Anne the face said it all the shear look of pride and accomplishment was evident. Smiling and waving to us all, as she entered the drive feeling mighty she was and forgetting to actually look where the hell she was going until crunch the right side front light and wing disappeared into the wall of the turf barn. The poor woman did not know whether to laugh or cry. We on the other hand once we found out she was not hurt started a mad laughing fit and the more she told us to stop the funnier it all seemed. To cut a long story short the car was returned to Kilkelly repaired and returned within a couple of days and do you know the old fella never saw any difference.
God love you Dearest.
