BIGGEST HEART

April 19, 2020
AK was incredibly kind to me. Alway warm, loving and the most caring person I have ever met. She made me brownies and was always sharing love, to everyone. Especially remember her birthday party where I arrived to find every room fill with huge yellow jonquils, love and friends who were special to her, it was a magical evening. Like many of her circle, thought of her as a sister.

My husband and I met these two wonderful women the week of Christmas 2008. They left quite the impression on us as fun loving and telling stories of the trips AK would take. We had discussed meeting up with her when she was chasing Eagles but never did. We have thought of her/ them often and how much we enjoyed meeting them and how much they had added to our trip. It saddened our hearts to hear of AK passing. Someone emailed me today to let me know she had passed. I was surprised she still had my email address. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

Despite the "No Feeding the Seagulls' signs, AK still found a way to bond with nature.  She fed the gulls our last morsel of food on the 17-mile drive in California. A.K. thank you for the best trip of my life!  You always had quite the following and always will.  Our precious memories will last forever!

I lost a dear friend, one that I had known over 30 years. Reardless of her age, she was always young at heart.  She had a lust for life and approached everything with great gusto.   Always a lover of animals, she fed the wild foxes in her yard, she traipsed up the steep hill in her back yard to feed the deer and all the strays knew where there could get a good meal. If you look up the word “generous”, you will see AK’s picture.  Over the years, she took care of various members of my family when the need arose, bringing soup to the sick, visiting those in the hospital, and babysitting. She gravitated to those on the fringe of society, whether it be downtrodden waitresses, immigrant workers, or lonely senior citizens that others had forgotten. I have seen her give money to strangers, when she had none for herself.  She was a good nurse, but a lousy patient. She wasn’t always an angel on this earth, but I know she has her wings now.  RIP, my friend. You will always be remembered. To the family, I am very sorry for your loss.

My heart goes out to Amelia, Vicki and Molly for the loss of their Sister and Aunt.  My heart goes out to anyone that knew and loved AK.  I could sit here for days trying to find the perfect wording for my feelings for AK and would never be able to express the true feelings.  She was my extended family, friend and someone that was there for me regardless of the situation.  AK would always go above and beyond for me and truly did  this from the bottom of her heart and her love for me expecting nothing in return.  AK was unique (as we all know) and you never had to wonder what she was thinking or she felt because she would tell you.  AK was AK to everyone she met.  There will never be another AK in my life and as sad as I am for that I am so thankful to have had her in my life for the last several decades.  AK, I love you and you will always be a part of my heart and soul.
