Sister Ann E Maxey Hudson's Biography

Sister Ann Hudson, born December 13, 1932 in Ocala, FL; baptized at an early age by Rev. Crumady, and a faithful member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. Sister Ann Hudson graduated from Howard Academy in 1951 as the Valedictorian of her class; Florida A. & M.  University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education where she successfully graduated with honors with a BA in Music Education. Received a Masters in Music from North Texas University and proceeded to teach young students the Art of Music and General Education for more than 50 years in both the United States and Germany. She taught in Marion County Public Schools for many years, Arlington, Texas and Frankfurt, Germany. Her accomplishments in education and music have always awarded her with top honors and compliments from School Presidents, and City and State Administrators for her positive affect on children.

She was the mother of three children, one son, Dewitt Holiday Hudson III, preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories, her other two sons, Tony Dean Hudson (wife, Karen) in Scottsdale, AZ; and Eric Donald Hudson (wife, Vantisa) in Roswell, GA. Her memories also extend to her grandchildren; Eric Donald Hudson Jr., Austin Jermaine Hudson, Vanessa Joann Hudson, and Anthony James Hudson.

Ann was preceded in death by mother; Gussie Mobley Hunt and father; Deacon Carl Maxey, and survived by her siblings: Brother; Deacon Leamon Hunt in Logan, GA; and Sisters: Cara Lee Maxey Stephens in Sarasota, FL; Jean Maxey Graham (husband, Clyde) in Ocala, FL; Barbara Maxey Samuel (husband John) in Ocala, FL; Shirley Bauknight (husband, Mack) in St. Petersburg, FL; Cynthia Bush in St. Petersburg, FL; and Carolyn Maxey Preston in Ocala, FL. An Aunt; Hattie Maxey, Ocala, Florida.

Others who will hold her deeply in their memories are a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Sister Ann Hudson has greatly affected throughout their lives and relationship with her.
