Fate has so many interesting and poignant ways of wielding destinies together as we pursue our faith in Christ. My rather snapshot memories of my brother and friend, Dr. Nnamdi Obiago, occurred after the glorious homegoing of his senior brother, Evangelist Uche, just over a year ago. We met up a few times alone, in the quiet and sleepy afternoons of a mild winter in Columbia, Maryland.

Those where awesome and unforgettable moments. We shared extensively on life's journeys and experiences, found scriptural guidinace and prayed fervently. He trusted me with his family's histories, the ups and downs of life, and his aspirations for how best to serve God with the rest of his life. His stories were deeply moving and clinical, never sparing any details for clarity, with amazing precision and transparency. He was not a man that left anything important in the gray.

Most of all, he shared his desire to spend time with me, to be mentored and set in place for ministry. That seemed to be most consuming and important thing of life to him, how to serve Jesus with reckless abandon. 

When we prayed it was fervent, sincere and effective; you sense you are joined in the spirit with a true man of God who has submitted everything of life into the will of Abba Father. He held nothing back. As we explored God's words and prayed, I sensed his faith's resolve, courage and joy increasingly towering.

His earthly accomplishments were nearly unimportant to him at those moments as his unquenchable quest for God's presence. 

The shock of his loss and yet the comfort of his departure to home sweet home in heaven are received with the fortitude of the Lord, but a very painful reality. 

Upon hearing of his home going, I immediately visited with my sister, minister Jane, on February 10 and spent part of the day with her. While we were praying the Lord flashed the face of my brother Nnamdi to me. He was radiant, joyful, full of zeal and zest, just like I knew him over here. It was a very reassuring countenance, indicative that all is well and he is home indeed with his Lord. I shared with my sister what has been revealed and we rejoiced and praised God for His goodness and mercy that endure forever. Halleluyah!

My prayer is that the Lord Himself who has received His son and servant home in heaven will comfort and strengthen the Obiago family and friends in the Name of Jesus. 

My brother Nnamdi, I know that you are resting well in the bosom of Jesus, in full blossom and joy of the Lord! Praise the Lord. We shall join you in the fulness of time. Adieu!
