To the Agatone family, I just was informed of the news. I haven't seen Anthony since College. But he was a great friend during my college years. Anthony and I went to a pet store when we were in College and we bought Cockateals, one for him and one for me. Mine was named Herschel. Its been so many years I cant remember what he called his. We had a lot of laughs together and I appreciated his friendship very much. I thought about him and many other College friends through the years but, Anthony was a special guy. I am so sorry for your families loss.  He will remain in my thoughts and prayers as will your family as you rebuild and heal from this.

With many fond memories,

To the entire Agatone Family - I am so sorry for your tremendous loss.
I went to BSHS w/Anthony. Even in high school (when we are all still formulating who we will become) he was such a wonderful person. Sweet, gentle and great sense of humor! We shared a lot of laughs. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Like it was yesterday, I can remember working Track & Field events at Harrison with Anthony when Billy and Dallin were there. I can tell you there were lots of laughs. I especially enjoyed his "communion shuffle" story. From that point on, I would look for you guys at Saturday night mass. And there he would be, the end of the line so he didn't have to do the "communion shuffle". What an incredible loss for so many people. Jamie, I can't imagine the loss for you and your boys. I am so sorry this has happened. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Kathy

Anthony and I were college roommates at Elizabethtown. I remember him aways laughing, joking around and watching out for others.
To read all these tribunes from friends, family, co-workers and people that he touched is a testament to his character and the incredible person he was when we were "kids in college" and continued throughout his life. Rest in Peace my friend.

Dear Jamie, Dallin, Cade & Cavan,

Anthony was an amazing man that touched the entire Bagin family in a different way. Gary's tribute will be written separately, but I will miss his infectious smile and presence dearly at all of our kids' sporting events, including soccer games and cross country meets. He and I talked about running almost every time that we saw each other, and I will miss that so much because we understood each other's love for it. He loved our boys and constantly encouraged them whenever he came in contact with them. I know that he will watch over and protect all of us from Heaven, may God rest your soul in peace, Anthony. With love, the Bagins

To Jamie and your sons. Although we have never met I am compelled to share with you that which you already know, that Anthony was and will remain a very special person in all of our hearts. I worked with Anthony at Boeing. Each time I saw him during one of my travels (we worked at different sites) he made me feel very welcome, like part of the team, his work family. Anthony always made us smile, he knew what was valuable and even during difficult discussions he always made others feel their thoughts were valuable and worth consideration. I knew him as an honorable man, a caring individual, a leader, someone I will never forget and hope I can live up to some of his achievements myself. May God grant you and your family peace through this untimely loss, knowing what an impact beyond your immediate family circle your husband had on his colleagues and associates. We will miss him greatly. God Bless.

I met Anthony in September 1987 while attending my freshman year at Elizabethtown College. As 3-south hall mates, we shared a unique group of friends that still to this day get together at least yearly to reminisce about all of the great experiences, stories and carefree times college life affords you.  Anthony had a unique way to his humor that no matter the mood; could always make me laugh and I remember that most about him. While in school we shared a great deal of free time together doing the things college kids do and sometimes shouldn't.
I can't put into words how deeply saddened I was to hear of Anthony's passing and how much he will be missed by me, my family and our circle of college friends.  I'll miss you my friend.

Dear Agatone Family,
Anthony was a great friend. I remember when he first became a boss at Boeing. There were lots of layoffs at that time, people were being moved around and I had got assigned to him. When I got there I knew I was being moved again in 2 weeks because I was the low man in his group and it was his turn to lose a man. Anthony felt so bad for me because I was being moved again he said “I’m taking you to lunch because I feel so bad for you and you’re the first person I’m losing as a manager”. I told him he didn’t have to do that because it wasn’t his fault and I wasn’t being laid-off, I was just being moved again. But that’s how he was…always concerned for others. He is sadly missed!

To the entire Agatone Family, reading through these posts provides a testimony to the kind of man that Anthony is. Saw the Agatone family on the boardwalk in Ocean City NJ and we exchanged hello's a few years ago. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel at the loss of a "good" man. My prayer for you is that the sadness and grief you feel can soon be replaced by happy memories of the times you shared as "family". My family will continue to pray for you and your family that God and Anthony will watch over you and give you peace. God Bless You.

There are no words to say how sorry we are for your loss. Some of our best memories - particularly Aidan's - were how supportive Anthony was of Dallin and the whole cross country / track teams. Anthony always had a kind word of encouragement for Aidan and was ever present at the meets - cheering everyone on. Your family will remain in our prayers. Sincerely,

I just want to start by saying that Anthony was a great man and will be greatly missed. Not just great at one thing, but a great coach and great neighbor, and I'm sure he was also a wonderful husband and father. I hadn't seen him much lately, but when I was younger the two of us spent a rather large amount of time with each other, even when our relationship was just a kid to a friend's father. I always commuted to places with him, and it was especially awesome when during the last soccer game of the 2011 season when I played goalie, and some kid got on a break away. I made a good save and the game ended with that. Needless to say he led the charge onto the field with the team behind him, as the great coach and person he was in general. In conclusion, he was a truly great man and he will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jamie, Dallin, Cade, and Cavan.

I was absolutely heartbroken to hear of Mr. Agatone's passing. He was, hands-down, one of the best and most genuine people I've ever known. My brother and I spent tons of time in the Agatone's house when we were younger, playing with Dallin, Cade, and Cavan. He was always around to have a conversation with, to crack jokes with- I don't think I ever heard him say something that didn't put a smile on my face. He was always being silly and joking around. One time, he walked in from work and I was sitting at his kitchen table, doing my homework while the boys were downstairs playing, and he said, "Wow. I wish Jamie had a work ethic like yours!" and cracked his big smile. He waved to my family every time he would run by us, even after we beeped at him one time and scared him so bad he nearly fell over. Every time I said hello to him, I got a "Hey Nicoletta, how are you, hun?" and every time I said goodbye, I was told to take care, a simple thing I'll miss so much. He was one of the sweetest people there was. I know that he would do anything for anyone. He was so very special to everyone who knew him. I never knew a neighbor could have such a positive impact on someone's life.
To the entire Agatone family- I'm deeply sorry for your loss and my thoughts, prayers, sympathy, and love are with all of you guys...Mr. Agatone may not be here with us anymore, but he will live on forever in our hearts.

My First, Best Friend

December 15, 2014

My strong feelings when the Agatone family moved to Downingtown still feel like yesterday.  At 11yrs old, I had never experienced such loss and cried myself to sleep the night before Aggie left as I realized summer street hockey, little league baseball, football in the backyard, track, school, recess and all of the fun things after school would never be the same.  We made some connections after that, a Holy Cross football game, I think a De La Salle dance, but 25 miles to one car, 4 kid families, was a huge impediment.  Soon, the closest connection I had was delivering and collecting on my paper route at 600 Sherman.

I always thought we could connect again and some 35 years later, learned Aggie felt the same.  My father passed away recently and in the receiving line, I was asked by a vaguely familiar face that looked 5 years younger than me, whether I recognized him.  What a gesture, what a person, what a friend even after all of these years.  His presence really picked up my spirits and in the few minutes after the service before the procession left we spoke briefly on family, job, etc… and most importantly catching up further in the future.  I was excited that we would now re-connect, but I never conceived of the thought of time being a factor.

Aggie was a great friend and I was so lucky to have him in my life as my role model for future friends.  As I can see from reading here, Anthony continued to make a similar, strong and positive impression on so many over the years and will be sorely missed and greatly loved.  My most heartfelt condolences to his parents, sisters, wife and children.

December 15, 2014

Anthony and I had your typical big brother-baby sister relationship, he tortured me and I would hit him and run and hide behind my mother so he wouldn't be able to get me back.  Although he always found a way to get me back, somehow he was always just one step ahead of me!.  I thought and knew that he was the best brother any sister could ever ask for.  He was my friend and my protector, if I ever needed anything he would go and get whatever I was in need of.  All I had to do was pick up the phone and say "hey do you think you could do me a favor" and his answer would always be "what now and yes".  There was never a time when he would ever say no.  As a family we have a special bond that will never be broken, even though he is no longer with us he will always be in our hearts and watching over us as he always did.
I will forever love you Anthony, your time on this earth was way too short but I know you are in heaven watching over everyone of us.

December 15, 2014

I would like to share my memories of the wonderful, loving relationship Anthony and my mom shared. From the time Anthony was a little boy he was the definition of a "Momma's Boy." They were fortunate enough to have an amazing bond of love, friendship, and mutual adoration that I know in my heart will stand even this unbelievably tragic time.  Anyone who knew Anthony knows that he would talk to my mom every day, not once a day, not twice a day.... Yep, three to four times a day. Of course if she didn't have the right tone, or she seemed sad or upset about something then the calls would increase until he was certain that she was ok.  We all love my mom with our whole heart, but there was something so special about their relationship, They shared a friendship like no other. Anthony truly thought the sun rose and set on his beautiful mom.  I know that Anthony is watching  over her and my promise to him  is to do  my very best to take care of her now that he can't be here to do it . I know that Anthony  went straight to her heart when he left us  Friday  morning and  will remain there forever .
