A light from the family is gone,a voice we love is stilled.
You have left a vacant spot in the home which can never be filled. How can your precious maame put in words, what is deeply embedded in her heart.
That is where you will forever be.
We know you're in a better place in the bosom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Our consolation is that, you loved the Lord with your whole being and died keeping the most important lesson:Love your neighbour as yourself.
You fought a good fight, you finished the race and have kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for you,a crown of righteousness which the lord the righteous judge, will give to you on that day(2Timothy 4:7-8)

We will forever miss you,but your memory will forever remain in us.We love you but God surely love you best and has finally made to sleep.

Your life was a blessing, your memory is a treasure.Rest in peace,Anthony our son,our dad and friend, rest in peace with the saints who have gone before you.Nyame mfa wo kra nsie,Rest in perfect peace.

Uncle Tony.. There are many things to say, and many memories to be reminisced on. We have always had a connection, and like Josh said you were like a father to everyone in our community.

I always looked forward to when you would visit us, or come to get your computer fixed by my dad. Your energy was infectious... Everyone was always laughing and smiling and joking. The best thing of all, is that you were truly a good person. As I grew older and entered different stages in my life, no matter the distance, you were there close by to check in, and of course-- to crack the obvious joke. Without getting too deep, I just want to you to know that you are loved and you are appreciated. You will definitely be missed, by everyone that got a chance to know you. We will miss your laugh, your smile, your songs.... But I will forever see your smile and hear your laugh in my heart-- when I close my eyes and think of you... I know you'll be here with me. Watch over your boys. I know you'll be present as they grow and mature, and that you'll forever be proud of them. Make sure to visit Auntie in her dreams to remind her you'll never stop giving her kisses, and you'll forever hold her in your arms until you two meet again.

You are a never ending thought in our minds and in our hearts. Rest in Power, King. You have left a beautiful mark on this world, and you have left us far too soon. Miss you already.

From the Prah’s

To our beloved elder, friend, brother, uncle and my abusuapanin...words cannot express how saddened your passing has caused my family....
For the very first time we met... you introduced yourself to us...and you referred to me as ohemaa what’s your name (oh wow) l replied.
And you went ahead and asked if you can take a picture of us,
In fact l was blown out, then later l asked my husband do you know him? He replied “no”.
I said to my husband if he calls me ohemaa then l want to know how he calls his wife...
Brother Tony since we met your family, its like meeting a blood family.
We talked about our families, laughed, pray, cried, and strengthen each other. Your presence in church is an inspiration to us all...The way you love the Lord and the people.
Brother Seeing you on 24th of January 2021, I didn’t know that it will be the last time...but it has pleases the Lord to take you from us, showing that he needed you more than we do, and am going to missed your TEXT always ending by you saying Thank my precious sister (oh oh)

Elder Tony, my friend and brother, that was quick. We didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye. May God bless your soul. Sixty-one years old! Hmmm.

You made marriage look like butter. Everyday for 35 plus years was a honeymoon. And everytime I met you, you were always saying Gloria's name. Because of you, no one ever forgot it. The genuine love and affection you showed her and your boys was unmatched.

I'll never forget the day you decided to go to the gym with me. That was a sad week for you because you couldn’t keep up and so, took several days (if not weeks) to recover. Well, my brother, kindly start a vigorous training in Heaven to get fit for a future rematch.

Everybody who met you became your friend, brother, and sister. You served well in every community you were part of. It was perfect when you prayed for Ghana and the Vice President when he was here a couple of years ago. Who would have thought that would be the last time. Ghana and Canada have lost a great man.
My family, the President and good people of Ghana, wish you eternal peace.

FROM THE AMPONSAH FAMILY

“But the righteous, though they die early, will be at rest.
For old age is not honored for length of time, or measured by number of years; but understanding is gray hair for anyone, and a blameless life is ripe old age. There were some who pleased God and were loved by him, and while living among sinners were taken up” (Wisdom 4:7-10).

What good thing cannot be said about Uncle Tony? He was a kind-spirited man who could effortlessly put a smile on anybody’s face; he didn’t need to know much about you, but even a first encounter would leave you with a smile. He was also ready to extend a hug, and to provide a funny comment to instantly pick up your day. He was our first welcome to Vancouver, BC and right from the airport, we could tell that he would be one of our favorite uncles. The fun memories are endless, from piling into his massive van for shopping trips, to heading to church services on Sunday mornings with his on-point DJ-ing of the latest Ghanaian gospel tracks. Uncle Tony was also a valued and strong mentor for all the youth, an encouraging presence during praises and worship, and someone who could be looked up to for guidance and a Godly example in whatever situation you found yourself; you never felt shy approaching him or asking for advice and guidance. He was also just a lot of fun, his cheery demeanor was so uplifting to behold, whether at church or other social gatherings. Uncle Tony has been taken from us much too soon. May he rest in Perfect Peace until we meet again in God’s time. He will continue to live on in our fond memories.
Uncle Tony we will surely miss you, but we are consoled by the fact that you are resting peacefully in the bosom of 'Father Abraham'.
Uncle Tony!
May the Almighty God bless and keep you.
May His angels welcome you to heaven and take care of you.
May you enjoy a peaceful and eternal Rest.
Requiescat in Pace (R.I.P)

My husband Anthony and I were married for 35 years. We lived our lives together as christians and a happily married couple. Apart from Jesus Christ you've been my backbone. We loved each other, you were there for me and I was there for you, now it has pleased God to take you away from me, and I don't know what to say. Left to us alone, you should have lived to see your grandchildren, but you have departed from us. I want to tell you that we love you, and as your wife I still love you. I pray that God will keep your soul in a good place till we meet again. God Bless you.

My father, our father, was the greatest man you could ever ask for. a real man who followed the plan that and purpose God had set before him, through the will of God he fulfilled that purpose. His warm heart and love touched every person that he came in contact with. He was amazing, always telling his jokes, always telling me how proud he was of me and the success I had gained. Most importantly he was a pillar to this community and his legacy and love will be carried throughout this world by every one he has touched. May God bless you daddy, till we meet again my best friend, ill do my best to show the love you gave me to others.

My father our daddy, our papa, our poppie, you were one of a kind, a shining light for all to follow. A smile that welcomed the broken hearted, the hurt, the ones that were not good enough, you loved all without question . I will miss you, we will all miss you. I was fortunate to call you father, you always pushed us to be and to do better. Your love for music has been engraved in us. I will miss the way you tell stories, the way we would laugh at jokes, the way you would advice me about life, women, marriage and business. Your love for life was as enduring as your love for God and you showed this by letting God use you to do his works, you would take the last shirt off your back to give it to someone who needed it "what a man" I was so blessed and honoured to call you a father and friend. My father, our daddy, our papa, our poppie, you were one of a kind. You know I will always love you, and cherish the times we spent together. Your Doctor/Business partner/laughing buddy.

My father was a great man. He was not only a father to us but to many. His laugh, smile, and aura was infectious. Anywhere he went his positive energy followed. He was a hard working, God fearing man and always put the needs of others before his own. His wonderful singing voice will be missed, his jokes will be missed and his easy going nature will be missed. He will always be here with us in our hearts and minds. I love you dad, I couldn't ask for a better father. I'm glad I was fortunate to be born in a time where I was able to experience you. You were truly one of a kind. I love you and I'm thinking about you always. Your Twin.

BIOGRAPHY

Early Years of Life

Tony was born on November 28, 1959 to Mr. Anthony King Donkor and Madam Teresa Anwhire Afuakosi in Sefwi Boako in the Western Region of Ghana. He was the only son of his parents. Unlike many Ghanaian children born alone to their parents who are pampered and become swollen headed, Tony from infancy was resolute and focused in life. He attended Sefwi Boako Middle School and then Asuansi Technical Institute where he obtained his secondary education. Tony's enterprising and brave survival nature was cultivated in primary boarding school and cemented in secondary school which earned his admission to Tarkwa School of Mines (University of Mines and Technology) where he obtained his certificate in welding technology.

Life in Montreal, Canada
Tony migrated to Montreal in 1986 to pursue his dreams as a welder. Leaving his young family in Ghana, in order to create a better life for them with plans to bringing them to Canada in the not so distant future.

Life in Vancouver, Canada

Tony moved to Vancouver Canada in 93' bringing his family of just Gloria and Isaac at the time to join him in Canada. Not too long after Joshua arrived on the scene, and last but certainly not least Pharez was born, completing the Baidoo family.

Church Life
Elder Tony became born again way back in 1977. He maintained his faith whilst in Ghana and fellowshipped with many brethren in the Scripture Union as well as the Church of Pentecost. In 1993, whilst in Montreal, Tony had a dream with God telling him to move to Vancouver to expand His church. He did so, and in July 1993 moved to Vancouver where he attended the Apostolic Faith Church in the mornings and Calvary Worship Center, led by Pastor Sam Owusu, on Sunday evenings. On his way to church, he would pick up sisters Esther Ayisi and Victoria Mensa. Tony was also hosting an evening prayer meeting at his house, and when he learned through another group that Elder Kuanao had arrived from Ghana, he invited him to join the small home gathering which included his family and sisters Esther and Victoria. The gathering began to attract attention and grew to include 15 people, prompting a move to a bigger space in a building known as Carpenter’s Hall. The church continued to attract more members and went through another move, this time to a rented space in New Westminster with the addition of Daniel Ayikwei and family as members. A further move to the basement of a New Westminster Methodist church brought Brother David Franny as a new member, as well as a visit from Apostle Bonsu of Toronto, who purchased a set of instruments for the church in their new home. By God’s grace and provision, the church continued to grow so they moved to Gateway Baptist Church premises. The Gateway church was founded by brother Stanley Anaman and the Lord blessed them with more additions. Brother Daniel Entiam and family, Elder Anthony Owusu from Montreal, Justina and Jonas Sey, etc. also joined the church. At this time, Tony suffered a severe traumatic accident to both his legs, which forced him to stay home for over a year. When he recovered, the church had moved to The People's Church basement where they were joined by Elder Asman from Toronto, with Elder Kuanao, appointed from Toronto, to be in charge of the church. Later, Pastor Emmanuel Owusu was sent from Toronto to Pastor the church in Vancouver. Tony was a member of Pastor Owusu's administration along with Apostle Ackaah Baidoo and helped the Vancouver church to buy a Mission House. Elders Anthony Owusu, Frimpong and Arbuah joined as part of the administration to help in the vineyard of the lord, and with the help of other members of the fold, the ministry was able to purchase a building for its members to meet and worship. Pastor Anthony Owusu was subsequently transferred to France leaving the church in Vancouver without a pastor for a while until Pastor Lawrence Manu was transferred from Toronto and stayed for about 4 years until he was sent to Ontario. Tony also served as an Elder in the administration of Pastors Engmann, Gyamera and Acheampong who all served as head Pastors over the years. Pastor Joseph Fynn-Sackey was brought to join the church as head Pastor and he appointed Tony to be in charge of the Akan session of the ministry.
Ebenezer -- “How far the Lord has brought us"

Professional Career
Tony was a Red Seal welder and pipe fitter. He loved his job so much at the age of 52 he went back to school to pursue his red seal certification and passed with flying colours. He proved that at any age, with focus and determination, you can achieve your goals. He was respected and loved by his coworkers and his positive energy and light left lasting impressions on all of them while working as a longshore man.

Family Life
Tony got married to Gloria in September 7th 1986. They have raised up three gallant gentlemen, Isaac, Joshua and Pharez. He raises a beautiful family admired by many.

Transition
In 2020, Tony and a serious stomach encounter which many thought was meant to take his life. However, strong as he is with prayer, the stomach troubles subsided and he returned to his normal life. During the later part of the year 2020, he has a boot cut on his toe which resulted in serious infection that was being treated by medical specialist. From nowhere, he was attacked by a strange illness and was hospitalized for three weeks. On the faithful day of February 28, 2021, he passed away at the Surrey Memorial Hospital.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away” Revelations 21:4.
