3 years has passed so quickly. Your grandchildren have grown at least one inch for each year you have been gone. In the name of creator God we claim hope and faith in God’s promises. Jesus promised that the sacrifice on Calvary is enough to cleanse us and faith and hope in God restore us. When Jesus comes again our loved ones will be renewed in Christ and made brand new. We look forward to that day because today and all the days we live through simply remind us of those we loved and lost. I won’t let your positive words be forgotten and your grandkids and son are loved more than ever. But in God you never lose and that’s what we are reminded of today. In Jesus name we press on to a day Jesus comes again.

My father in law Anthony Burks was a larger than life person with a great laugh. I always wished we could visit the Grand Canyon because if he laughed I am sure everyone would hear him from the East coast to the West coast. Ocean to Ocean he had that kind of reach. Today marks what would have been a very special day for him. It is hard because we had so many plans and God put those on pause. He said he would let his beloved child Tony rest, and we would all just have to heal and hurt without him here. In God’s eyes my father in law is a tiny delicate flower to be cultivated and cherished. Loved, remembered, and most of all missed. I know the next time we see him he will be restored and renewed, and his smile will be just as wide. Even so come Lord Jesus! The dead in Christ will rise first. And we know you will fly faster than anybody to see Jesus. Happy Birthday.- Jessica

My name is Ruth. I am the oldest of all the Johnson cousins. I am so very sorry to hear of Tony’s untimely passing. He was a much loved person all his life. His enthusiasm and sincerity was always appreciated. He was so good hearted as is all his siblings.

The Burks are one of my first cousins. Aunt Corrine was our mother’s sister. My sisters and I had many, many happy memories with Tony and his siblings. At one time we lived in the same house. We lived in the upstairs apartment and the Burks lived on the main floor. We had many good times.I wish I had met Tony’s own family. What fine looking children. Their expressions on the video proved what a wonderful father and grandfather he was. I feel so proud of our Tony.

Now we all must be comforted by the hope from the Holy Scriptures. We pray for when soon God’s Kingdom will rule over the earth because Jesus Christ said in his Sermon on The Mount Matthew 5:5 that “The meek will inherit the earth.” In the meantime may we all be comforted by the Apostle Paul’s words at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 May the God of all comfort, comfort us in all our tribulations so we can comfort others.

Maintain our hope, stay safe and keep your hope.

The passing of my brother Tony will always leave a big hole in my heart. He was my traveling buddy, fishing partner, idea decorator, protector, cooking teacher and an overall funny person with a warm, infectious smile and personality. His family and his cousin family will miss him dearly.

Tony was my first Cousin. I have always loved him. His family and mind we had some great times. We would always dance and there was always laughter. These pass years due to aging and sickness we don’t see one another as often as we would like. But Donna and Tony had a Barbcue for all of us first cousins. We had so much fun catching up with one anther. Also my oldest sister Ruth who lives in Canada talked with each one of Tony and all his family. She was so happy. I remember seeing Tony smiling and talking with all and making sure everyone had all they needed, Donna and Tony did just as their mother would have done. I am so happy we all had that time together. I will always love Our Tony.

Thank you for giving life, love, faith, and kindness to those you loved. That has been one of the greatest gifts I was given in knowing you Daddy Burks and becoming part of your family. The love you created has in turn blessed you with many grandchildren who love you. That legacy of love and kindness, fondness for laughter, good food, and bear hugs will always live on. Thank you for everything you did in love, and may God bless you in the resurrection to be restored and see renewal. In Christ our hope, our light never dies.
