Mrs. Argie (Lean) Burton 69 was born on November 20, 1945 in Chambers County to the parentage of Francis King. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the Pine Hill Baptist Church in Penton, Alabama and later became a member of the Church Of Christ in Auburn, Alabama. She received her education from Alexander City Junior College in Alexander City, Alabama. She was employed at West Point Stevens for 25 years as a quality control assessor until her retirement on July 2006.

Survivors are her mother Francis King of LaFayette, Al., 3 children-Willie (Genny) Burton of LaFayette, Al., Tommie Burton of LaFayette, Al., Vicky (Bruce) Gunn of LaGrange, Ga., 8 siblings-Mary Ross of LaFayette, Al., Charles (Ethel) King of LaFayette, Al., Maxine (Otis) White of Fairfax, Al., Helen Turner of Montgomery, Al., Shasta (Melvin) Brooks of Cusseta, Al., Doris (Willie) Brown of Valley, Al., Linda Burney of LaFayette, Al., Debra Phillips of Valley, Al., 8 grandchildren-Breanna Carr of LaFayette, Al., Shameeka Linson of Auburn, Al., Shenealya McCurdy of Montgomery, Al., Keyla McCurdy of LaFayette, Al., Kiniya Burton of Lanett, Al., Tommie Burton, Jr. of Montgomery, Al., Jermeil Cobb of Montgomery, Al., Cotillia Miles of Opelika, Al,  and a very special and dear friend Kathy Phillips of LaFayette, Al., and a agglomeration of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
