Kevin
We were all blessed by this wonderful woman. After a full life of love and happiness, Arlene Carswell left us on December 8, 2015. She has now joined Bruce, the love of her life. They will both be forever in our hearts.
We have set up this site in her memory. The quotation above is from Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet", one of Mom's favorite books. And the music is from Beethoven, one of her favorite composers.
Please feel free to share your thoughts, stories, and photos in the tribute section below, by clicking the tabs above or the add photos button to the right.
With all our love,
Dix, Jan, Kevin and Betsy

They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make.
Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.
We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.” - Leo Buscaglia
Do I make you proud? Mama, can you see me now?
Whatever's good in me is because you showed me how to take love by the hand."
As each year passes, I am more and more thankful for the values you and Dad taught us all. With much love, Kevin
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
- Dolores M. Garcia
When my own parents passed it was a revelation, as if a curtain had been raised on a window to my life that, while always there, I could never before see through. I hope that in a similar way all who miss Arlene gain insight and peace from the event of her passing.
The photos on the site moved me greatly. Arlene was a beauty, of course, but the pictures also drew me back into times from memory and forward into the lives that her children have today fashioned with their own wives, children, and grandchildren. I now remember Arlene as if we were speaking when I was a small child. I have a seven-year-old son now myself, and I realize that I must have been his age when I knew her best. Life is indeed a web infinite beyond our comprehension.
I am sorry for her loss but happy for the blessings God has given us through her long, rich life.
And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountaintop, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
-Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
