Arnold Junior Lane, 70, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at Maria Parham Hospital in Vance County.

A native of Swain County the son of the late Arnold Pinkney and Idabelle Hawkum Lane.  He was a member of Stovall Baptist Church and worked in logging all of his life.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 28th, 2014 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Sam Brewer.  Burial will be in Stovall Memorial Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of forty-eight years, Betty Paschall Lane of the home, a daughter, Rosa Lane Mullen of Spring Hope, two sons; Randy W. Lane of Buffalo Junction, Va, Robert C. Lane of Oxford, three granddaughters; Kimberly Barksdale, Brittany Lane, Chassidy Mullen, four grandsons; Marty Barksdale, Michael Lane, Lee Mullen, Dakota Lane, one great-grandaugher, MaKayla Barksdale, one great-grandson, Brayden Barksdale and a nephew Edward Proffitt.  He was preceded in death by three sons, Michael, Harold and Frankie Lane.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 27th from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times the home.
