"til death do us part"

October 10, 2013

35 years ago today we said "til death do us part"  Those words came back to haunt me 18 months ago when you went home to be with the Lord.  It took a large piece of me with you, the pain it left seems to be unrelenting.  I will carry on as is required but I will never feel complete again.   You may be gone but you are not forgotten.
I remember the day just like it was yesterday, the bright Texas sun was shining just as it is today.  I remember what we were wearing and where we were married.  Memories are all you have once you reach this turn in the road.  I am glad that you knew how much I loved you, how much I appreciated everything about you, and how special you were to me.  Thats all I have left.

World Series

October 19, 2012

Bo loved baseball so much every year we would spend hours watching baseball on TV.  He knows every stat on every player since time began.  He loved to play baseball himself but his all time favorite team was the Detroit Tigers.  I know that I mentioned in an earlier story that they did not make the world series but honey I just want you to know I was wrong I just this minute found out the Tigers are going to the World Series I know you would be so thrilled.  I just want to let you know I am happy for your Tigers for you this year.  Maybe they will win it all for you....

A Jellybean to Heaven.

September 18, 2012

Happy Birthday Baby, I got an email from this site reminding me that this is your birthday, like I would need a reminder so I decided to write you a note.  I told Justin just yesterday that I would like to get you some of your gourmet jelly beans but like so many things he didn't get it. Its just between you and me.  Your tigers didn't make it to the world series this year, maybe next year. Your granddaughter was born last week, she is truly a beautiful child.  I get a letter from your friend and mine Evelyn once in a while.  Yesterday in the news I see where a drunk driver mowed down a bus stop on decatuer and killed four people and injured eight but he lived.  Don't know if you get to celebrate your birthday in heaven but if you do know i am with you in spirit.  I know one thing you would not come back even if you could  you are happy and knowing that makes me happy.  Love you baby.

Scrabble

September 9, 2012

Bo, was one of those kinda guys that would completely surprise you.  I guess I knew him for a couple of years before I realized he enjoyed Scrabble andgames like that and that he enjoyed reading.  He would come up with words that would amaze me and I consider myself to be pretty good at knowing and understanding words in the English language.

Susie, the "piece of furniture" was one of those wind up swings for Justin, when he was just a baby.  That was the main reason we went there, was to see the new tiny baby boy.  He ain't changed much since then.  :)  I remember Lori's room being a total wreck too.  We had the 1983 blue and white GMC pickup and the way we traded vehicles Bo was always commenting about how we changed vehicles, often.  I am almost possitive that Vicki and Stan were there and Stan and I "helped" in getting it put together.  Though I think Stan dug in deeper than I did.  But that could be another time when Bo was "mechanicing" on something.  He was so funny when he would be amazed at how something would go together, after it was put together and how Stan or I could visualize how it goes together.  Guess that may have been some of his problem with assembling things, I don't need no stinking instructions and Bo, being more or an intellect, would try to use them, and sometimes they just confuse the issue.  :)

Handyman

September 8, 2012

Do you remember the time we came to San Antonio and Bo had tried to assemble & put together some furniture or toy, I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was so comical because I'm not sure Bo was really cut out to be a handyman...but then that can be most men who seem to put together all sorts of items just to tear them apart and start over LOL...it was funny at the time and we all had a good laugh about it.   Roger & him had a good time starting over with it though.
