Arthur Glass, Sr., age 82 went to be with the Lord Wednesday,September 26, 2018 peacefully at home. He was born on December 11, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio.He was preceded in death by both parents John E. and Mamie Glass Sr., four sisters and two brothers, son: Romero Glass, and granddaughter: Shannon Glass.

Art developed a love for boxing during his early years and obtained a job to pay for his training.Art was a graduate of Dunbar High School and retired after 33 1/2 years of service from General Motors.Art was a National Pro-boxer. His ring name was “Art-Unbreakable-Glass”. He had an impeccable record of 27 knock outs!Unbreakable Art, fought in Chicago, New York City, Hollywood, and Havana, Cuba among many other places. Art was inducted into the Ohio Boxing Hall of Fame in 1981.His strong will and determination to be the best he could beprepared him for the greatest matches of his life; becoming a Christian, a husband, a father, and grandfather.

Art met Ruth White, the love of his life, in high school and married her. They have stayed by each other’s side faithfully and happily for 63 years; to this union they have five children: Arthur, Jr., Veronica, April “aka Shorty”, Mark, and Romero and four adoptive children: Sarde,Caroline, Shay, and Shawn. Art obeyed the Gospel in 1960 and made it his personal mission to win souls for Christ.That’s right “personal work” was his code of honor.He was instrumental in bringing many souls to Christ. Because of his “unbreakable” spirit and commitment to God, many lives have changed for the better.He served on the busministry, sang in the choir, and served on the church radio ministry.Whatever was needed to be completed, Bro. Glass was always ready to serve.

Art-Unbreakable-Glass will be deeply missed but his legacy of love will live forever. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife: Ruth Glass;Children: Arthur Jr., Veronica Kendrick, April Britton, Mark (Ligaya) Glass, Sarde (Andre’) Ellington, Caroline (Earl) Nichols, Shawn and Shay Glass, all of Dayton. One Brother: Robert Lee, Philadelphia, PA., Special friends: George Woods, John Smalley, Sr., and Christopher Landrum, I. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Arthur Glass Sr. 82 years old , born on December 12, 1935 and passed away on September 26, 2018. We will remember him forever.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Germantown Church of Christ. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
