A Life Well Lived:

Arthur John Gracianette Sr, passed away to be with Our Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Arthur was born on April 9, 1932 in New Orleans, LA. He truly lived a faithful and joyful life.  He was always known as the perfect gentleman. 

He is preceded by his loving wife, Margaret Torres Gracianette, his parents Harold Thomas Gracianette and Lottie Marie Breaux Gracianette, and his siblings Harold Gracianette, Merlin Gracianette, and Thomas Gracianette. He is survived by his sister Shirley Gracianette Joubert and his 4 children, Karen Gracianette, Gerée Gracianette Martin (Clif), Kim Gracianette, and Arthur Gracianette Jr (Carla) and his 6 grandchildren, Ashley Martin Echols (Andy), Porter Martin (Madison), Ruby Gracianette, Trey Gracianette, Sophie Gracianette, and Isabella Gracianette.
 
Arthur was a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Margaret Torres on Sept 12, 1959. He was a business owner, a great baker, hair stylist, and dance teacher. He and Margaret owned 2 restaurants in New Orleans - Art’s Doughnuts and Art’s Holiday Drive In. When they moved to Birmingham in 1976, they joined several dance clubs throughout the city and loved everyone they met through dancing. When their children moved out, they enjoyed traveling and joyfully dancing through life together.

Arthur was a devout Catholic, an amazing husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend to all.

A private family Catholic Funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 18, 2021.
