Lobsters in Mallaig

April 7, 2013
In the summer of 2011 me mum and dad went on a holiday to Scotland. We toured all over it staying in a different place every night. One day we went on the Jacobite train trip to Mallaig. The train goes over the bridge that is shown in the very well known film Harry Potter! We loved it, the day was perfect. Dad, being so into photography which he claimed that he was amazing at, had to get the best pictures possible he pulled out his best lense that would be best for this sort of picture and took the pictures. We ended up with just a couple of good pictures, the rest being of the window because he didn't angle it right, typical dad haha. On the way back he got some better ones now knowing what he was doing of course! But as we arrived in Mallaig we had to eat somewhere so we went to this little fish shop by the fishing docks. On the menu there was a lobster platter. I had never had lobster before and was reluctant to try it so dad offered to share one with me, I think he thought or hoped that I would hate it, so we ordered the lobster platter. The platter that came out had one lobster 4 Langoustines and some king prawns. I was reluctant to try it so waited for dad to have some first, he showed me how to use the tools to get the meat bits out, this was hilarious I couldn't get the hang of it. I ended up getting bits of lobster everywhere! Anyway I tried the lobster and absolutely loved it! Me and dad then started to argue over this lobster on who could have the most as we both loved it! This is why there is a picture of me and dad eating lobster on here! The waitres found it quite funny dad and i trying to get as much lobster as possible from the plate! This will always be a fond memory of mine not only for the funny side but for the fact I now love lobster! After we finished our lobster we got back on the train, on the way back dad had to sit in the sun, it was so hot the sun was burning! Dad of course forgot his sunglasses so he decided to take mine, flowery girls sunglasses! He was so hot he also had to put his jumper around his face, so you can just imagine him sat there with his blue jumper over his head and my flowery sunglasses on! That was a highlight of the holiday that I will never forget!
