Neither Arthur or I had a brother so we adopted one another-distance not withstanding. Our Irish genetic disposition showed up every time we conversed. His "Try, fail, tryagain, fail better" is consistant with my own favorite. "It is better to ask for forgiveness than for permission." Judy and I always looked forward to the visits-with him and you . Now Arthur doesn't need airline tickets to make the journey. The original aero-space program! With love to you..

Arthur and his daughter, Anne
Meet baby Roy fresh from a Florida pound where, thankfully, he'd spent only a day. Roy became Art's protector, total pal and "the dog of a lifetime". They went everywhere together. Roy was fearless but gentle. He loved the grandchildren and neighborhood children and always seemed to know the right thing to do. Roy rose to every occasion including rolling with our road-trips and motel stays. Art said that Roy "should have run for governor." All the neighbors loved him. One Christmas, a wrapped Christmas awaited Roy on the outdoor steps. No name. Roy turned into a handsome, strong dog. Art was often asked about his breed and replied, quick as ever, "He's a Blarneyhound."
Arthur and I were animal and dog lovers together and we had several dogs--almost all rescues-- during our 25 years of marriage. Both Arthur and I felt that there was something even bigger about Roy who was a wise, powerful, good-natured and truly great dog.
