The photos are just wonderful Katherine - I'll always remember Art's wonderful kind smile and hand shake. I will miss seeing him with his car buddies in Staunton. Take care... Gary

Art could join a family affair, tell one story, and have everyone waiting for more. He was a great guy, wonderful artist, and will be missed by many..  Katherine this is a wonderful tribute. Bonnie and Chris

As others have said, what a remarkable tribute to such a remarkable guy! The quality I admired most about Arthur was his devotion to Katherine. For the last year or so, his one driving concern was to make sure that she was comfortable in the new home so that her stress would be reduced. He was also concerned for "the boys" as he called them. I am sure he will be greatly missed.

Dear Katherine,
Neither Arthur or I had a brother so we adopted one another-distance not withstanding. Our Irish genetic disposition showed up every time we conversed. His "Try, fail, tryagain, fail better" is consistant with my own favorite. "It is better to ask for forgiveness than for permission." Judy and I always looked forward to the visits-with him and you . Now Arthur doesn't need airline tickets to make the journey. The original aero-space program! With love to you..

I met Art when I babysat Mary, Patrick, and Mary at their grandparents house in Fall River, and at Little Compton, R. I. in the summer. He loved to cast for bass in the evening on the beach! And he loved eating the lobsters the local fisherman caught. He helped me through a year of college in N.Y. and I remain grateful for that. Art was enthusiastic about life whether it was painting, the apple trees, or the change of wind in the harbour at Sakonnet Point. It was the years of folk singers like Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez....he was excited about the social message, and concerned about people. Well, I grew up and never really had a chance to thank him. But I would like his family to know that I remember his life with many thanks in my heart, and many fond memories even though they come from so many years ago..

I’m sitting here watching the slides go by. The images move across the screen…family and friends…children and grandchildren…Art on a dance floor…Art on boat…Art on a horse…and of course, Art’s art. And I miss my “old car buddy” all over again.
