Mr. Auther “Buck” Person also known as Oscar Stevenson was born on April 15, 1937 to the late Mary E. Person and Charles Stevenson of Midway, AL.  He joined the New Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. Auther received his education from Center Ridge High School. He was employed as a construction worker until he retired. Later in life, he moved to Miami, FL. Auther  departed his life on October 10, 2014 in Miami, FL.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Rodgers, Deloris Person, Emma Lou Woods and Donzella Young.  He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Brenda Allen and Sonji (Eric) Beacham; two sons, Sam Cory and Johnny B. Cory, all of Miami, FL; a longtime devoted friend, Celestine Purcell; eight sisters, Maxine (Clarence) Tellis, Pearline Mae Dozier, Willie Mae France, Bessie Patterson of Midway, AL, Alma Austin, Birmingham, AL, Beatrice Stevenson, Atlanta, GA, Jonett Morgan, Melville, IL and Debra Stevenson, Midway, AL; three brothers, Alexander Person, Eufaula, AL, Morris Stevenson, St. Petersburg, FL and Robert Stevenson, Waukegan, IL; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two aunts, Lessie Efford, Louisville, AL and Annie Mae Washington, Montgomery, AL; three uncles, James Person, Montgomery, AL; Barnett Person, Fort Worth, TX and Donell Person, Akron, OH; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
