I will always be thankful for this caring man who was so very caring of my sister Frances. He was so patient with her and helped her and Luis as well.
I know that you (Liz) will miss him so very much but I know that God will give you strength during this very difficult time. Know that he was loved by the family and he will be missed.

His Life

Arthur Samora

January 18, 2019

Art was born August 4, 1946 in Bakersfield, CA. He was 4th born to Antonia Cruz and has 11 siblings. Art has 2 daughters Michelle Marie, 52, and Tina Samora, 50, 3 grandchildren Eileen Pickens, 34, PJ Ramos, 28, Rico Ramos, 21, and 2 great-grandchildren Cameron Pickens, 6, and Lauryn Pickens, 2. Art and Liz met in 1980 while working together and have been married 31 years in Delano. Art was musically inclined, a great artist, an avid reader and a fantastic cook. He worked as an institutional cook for over 40 years and after retirement he continued to volunteer cook for many occasions. He liked to travel to coastal areas and to the closest casinos where you would find him glued to the Keno machine.

Art passed on January 11, 2019 in the late afternoon. He went home peacefully surrounded by Liz, Michelle and many loved ones. He will always be remembered as a compassionate, loving, generous man who would go over and above for friends and family. He will be greatly missed by many.

Liz would like to thank everyone for their love, thoughts and prayers during the last few months. "I was blessed to have him as long as I did."

Artie Fartie

January 21, 2019

Well...first of all the fact that you let me call you Artie Fartie says a lot about the type of person you were!  You had the biggest heart, the most giving soul, the kindest faceand the wit that no one could match!  You had god children left n right, some that were actually god childrencuz they all called you Nino.  Your love n devotion to Liz was admirable, altho we teased about how spoiled she was...lol.  You were the most caring son-in-law to my in-laws;  If they were in need for anything, you were there to fill that need.  You were their driver for appointments, you made sure they were well fed, you were always the first for kitchen duty...I could go on n on.  Our family is going to have a huge void without you around but we know that you are sitting up there probably shuffling cards for the next hand of poker.  We were blessed with you in our lives and thank you for the love you showered Liz with all those years!
