His Life

A brief life history

April 19, 2013

Arvind was born in Kartarpur, India in 1950. After graduating from Amritsar Medical School in 1974, he moved to the US to complete his surgical internship and residency. A year into his residency he made the decision to switch to Radiology so that he could have more time to travel and eventually start a family. He completed his residency in Phoenix, AZ in 1978-1982, where he met and married me. As newlyweds we moved to New Orleans, where he worked at East Jefferson Hospital. After the arrival of our 3 wonderful children and seven years of hard work, we decided to move our young family out to California to be closer to Arvind's extended family.

Arvind worked at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland California for almost 20 years. He loved his work and those he worked with. He was an excellent and compassionate Radiologist. He was loved by all who worked with him.

Arvind was well known for his jokes and stories by friends, family and colleagues. He had a joyous attitude towards life and kept his sense of humor until his last days.

Arvind loved to learn new things and was always reading about politics, history, health, business and anything else that caught his interest. He was the master of useful & useless information. He loved to talk and share what he learned with his friends and family. He was never at a loss for words and enjoyed talking to everyone he met. He was an amazing husband and father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His family always sought his advice and he was known as the family advisor and peacemaker.

Arvind's mark in this world was significant. His good character brought him much love and success in his life, while his strength, tenacity and hope during his battle with cancer earned him a respect and admiration that is difficult to put into words. He taught us how to appreciate life, no matter what the circumstance.

I love and miss him so much!
