Ashley N. Routledge, 42, of Mount Laurel Township, NJ, went to her heavenly home on January 27th, 2020. Ashley was born on January 30th, 1977 in Topeka, Kansas. Daughter to Sheryl, sister to Ryan and Linsey, and aunt to Elena Lucía, Victoria Sofía, Loring, and Thayer.

Ashley was a graduate of Lenape High School in Medford, New Jersey. She worked as Director of Operations for Freedom Mortgage Corp.
Ashley was loved by and had an impact on everyone who spent time with her. Her care for others and keen sense of humor gave her a presence that everyone enjoyed being in. She was always viewed as a teacher, leader, and mentor in the workplace. Ashley had the power to bring people together. Her compassion always exceeded her self-concern as she sought to help others even in the midst of her own struggles. Ashley spent her free time enjoying her passions for horticulture and all aspects of nature. She was particularly fond of being in natural settings and observing wildlife. She also relished the company of friends and family. Ashley’s favorite role was that of aunt to her nieces and nephews, spending tireless hours playing with them and showering them with love and gifts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering in Ashley’s honor at Steelmantown Natural Burial Preserve—located at 101 Steelmantown Rd., Steelmantown (Woodbine), NJ—on Friday, January 31st at 1:30 pm. Funeral services and burial will follow promptly at 2:30.

In lieu of flowers, Ashley would appreciate donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) www.worldwildlife.org.

My very best friend, from the first time we met to your last day on this earth you smiled. Twelve years is long yet not nearly long enough for me, I miss you so much. I am grateful for every moment we spent together, I was so lucky to have you in my life and my family’s life. You are so many things to us; your heart so warm and open to love, so sassy with humor, a mentor, a teacher, a friend a sister, my hero! Your laugh will never weaken, your smile will still bring me warmth, I'll still be listening for you to sass me when I am doing something stupid. I will still learn as you show me the way of nature. Your years on earth and in my life have meant so much to me, I am grateful we never took those days for granted cherished each one filling it with laughter and tears, anger and happiness. You never dwelt on what we couldn't control but embraced the things we could. In all the time that I have known you and even today you have always brought people together. I hope you see all the good you have done and will continue to do here on earth and now up in heaven. Because of you I am a better person, because of you I want to continue to be a better person. My girls and I will continue to explore and learn about the things you love as it will just bring us that much closer to you. You viewed this world and the things in it as pure as a child would and it completely amazes me.
I am so Jealous of the angels beside you, the ones you now share your days with, but I will see you again. Even though my heart aches from your absences and I think of you all the time, I have no regrets. Each day with you was special from the laughs to the arguments, the tears to the smiles, I have no regrets. So Thank you, my dear Ashley, for everything, your time, your heart, your friendship, protection and faith. You are the definite of Amazing. Till I see you again my friend, with all my heart you will always be apart my life.
Love always,
Skanes

For days I tried to bring myself to write in memory of Ashley and I'm still not sure of what to say. I knew Ashley from my sister Colleen, they are best friends. Colleen would talk about her all the time and when I officially met Ashley she instantly became family. Everytime I saw Ashley she would always have a smile on her face, she would never complain and she was always strong. My girls too feel in love with Ashley in fact my oldest Kaela holds deep in her heart that Ashley was the first person she ever sang in front of and Ashely made her feel so special. That was one of the reason she had to courage to join choir this year. Lexi and Sophia laugh and smile when we pick up a shovel because of th huge hole that they dug with Ashely at the beach. Ashley made being with her so easy with her kind heart and sweet smile. This truly breaks me heart but Ashley will always be remembered and talked about in our house. The memories she created with myself and my girls always brought joy and happiness in our lives. Rest in Peace Sweet Ashley you will truly be missed. We love you!

Don't cry for me today,
I wouldn't want it this way.
Be strong and smile,
for you will see me in a while.

I know you miss me,
but now in Heaven I will be.
I am in a much better place.

Live every moment as if it were your last.
I won't forget any memories that have passed.
Cherish life and love
as I watch you from above.

It is time to go and fly.
As your guardian angel
soaring through the sky.

Thinking of you all and keeping you close in prayer

In loving memory of an amazing, one-of-a-kind woman. Ashley was a kind and gentle soul, a person that I was blessed to know. Her memory will always reside in my heart and the hearts of those she encountered. While heartbroken and sorry beyond words, it's comforting to know that she now resides in the arms of an angel. May you rest in peace.
With love,
Kandi

I tried to type something profound and I just can’t put into words what your friendship meant to me and countless others! I knew the moment I met you, you were someone special.... and boy was I right. You will never be forgotten and you will be missed. From someone who usually has a lot to say, I’m at a loss for words. We love you Ashley! RIP our Angel! XOXO

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
It broke my heart to see you go,
God only takes the best.
Ashley you are forever in my heart. I miss you here on earth but I look forward to seeing you again one day in glory.
Loving You Always

It was sad to hear that Ashley passed, however, I do know that she will no longer be in pain and will join the Angels in the presence of the Lord.

I am glad that I remember her with a smile on her face and always willing to help in time of need. Ashley you will truly be missed because you were a shining star.

My condolence is going out to Family and Friends during this trying time. I will keep everyone in prayer.

When Ashley was present, she lighted the entire room with her huge smile, quirky sense of humor and overall goodness in everything she did. She was a warrior at work, a kind person but don't mess with her. She would have none of that. She will come back at you with flames if it was warranted. We bow down to this lady (Rich and I) who touched our hearts and many hearts along the way. We are honored to have known Ashley and spend some pretty fun moments with her at work or outside of work. The last time I was with her, we were at a Phillies game and it rained. Well, my hair doesn't do well in the rain and I never adored my curls as much as Ashley did - and she knew how to rock the curls much better than I. I stayed inside and her and Colleen just sat in the rain and I wish I could of just said "F it". It did stop raining and I eventually came outside and spend time with her....it just wasn't enough time.
Ashley may just shut down a mortgage company for a day so all can attend her services. She was loved by many! I wish I could postpone my trip to my mom's to say one more goodbye but as Colleen advised me, Ashley would have wanted me to be with my mom in her time of need. Our deepest sympathy, Rich and Denise Dawson. We will miss her!

To the Routledge family, my sincere condolences. Ashley was the kindest person I have every met, her smile was as big as her heart. She was beautiful inside and out and I am a better person for having known her. She touched my heart in many ways...but the most was two years ago when I lost my father, someone she never met, I looked up at his funeral and there she was walking in to pay her respects, I can not even put into words how much that meant...but that is who she was, always being there for others when they were at their worst moments....she will be missed and beyond loved. Rest easy sweet girl....xoxo

Ashley, the best at her craft in closing, a terrific friend and amazing human being and someone who made us better. She always gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. She wanted to teach what she knew even if you were getting it. She had so much patience.  She was my partner in the workplace and someone who was respected and loved by all. She made my job easier and it was my sincere pleasure to work alongside her. Everything that she did was with complete commitment and we all benefitted from it.

She was my friend and I will miss her always. Loyal, kind, compassionate, ethical and honest were some of those virtues that made her who she was. I learned so much from watching her and talking to her. She made my life richer and I am better for having known her. There are so many wonderful memories shared and so grateful for it.

Today she is my hero, so courageous in her fight against Cancer. She was relentless and was bound to beat it! She lived in pain for a long time and many did not know it because she refused for you to feel sorry for her. She knew there was always someone less fortunate than her. Strength, humility and grace is what she displayed to us at all times.

Heaven gained the most amazing of angels. Her memory will live on forever. My love, thoughts and prayers are with all who mourn her today.

Love always,

Nancy Benites

Today we remember Ashley for the beautiful spirit that she had, a truly , kind and considerate person. She was dedicated to her work, could always be counted on to go the extra mile, never stopping until the job was done and done well. She is sorely missed for those contributions she made to our success. Outside the office she was funny, thoughtful and kind. Heaven has gained just a beautiful spirit, may she rest in peace.
