Big Brother

February 7, 2012
While I was pregnant with you, your brother Jesse who was 4, had already fell in love with you & the fact that he was going to be a big brother. He would talk to you in my belly, sing you songs, have me read stories to the both of you, kiss my belly, hug my belly. I was so happy to see how excited he was & how he loved you before he even knew you or seen you. The day I was in labor, he was brought over to the hospital to bring me & you gifts. He was only dose to visit before I had you but ended up staying with his grandmother. You came quickly! He watched & helped "coach" me as I was in labor. It wasn't my plan to have him there during the labor, but it was a good thing he was. He watched EVERYTHING! It was so cute! What a proud big brother he was that day! When you came home HE was more protective with you than I was. I didn't want any loud noises or tv around you & one day I had the tv on low & your brother told ME to turn the tv down because it was too loud for you! I laughed because it was already low. He was always shooshing people telling them to be quiet because it was too loud for sister. He would tell me to cover you up so you wouldn't be cold, always running to rinse off a binky if it hit the floor. He loves you & misses you everyday. You are always mentioned in his prayers & most of the time it makes me cry to see & hear how big of a heart he has for such a small person. You are his baby sister & he loves you so very much, or as he says it, "with all of his heart".

"Old Soul"

February 7, 2012

Grandma Andrea and Great-Grandpa Eugene had noticed and even said about you, that you had an "old soul". I think back and know that you did have one. You acted older than your age at only 2 months old. I can't really explain how, but we all felt it and seen it. Sometimes it's hard to believe that you were only just 2 months old but were so smart in many ways. You would talk as if you understood what we were saying. It was so cute to watch you and Aunty Yvonne have a conversation. I am very fortunate to have caught some of it on video.

Mommy's silly girl

February 7, 2012

You never failed to put a smile on my face or make me laugh with your silliness. I would watch you with so much admiration and love, you brought out such happiness in me. I remember one time you had me laughing by the funny face you had made. I can't remember if I was holding you or if you were laying down on the bed, but you were looking around the room with a serious look and your mouth was shaped like an "O". I'm laughing as I'm writing this. There was also this thing you would do whenever I would give you a smacking kiss when your mouth was slightly open too. You would lean into my kiss quickly, almost head butting me, as if you were kissing me back. Oh, the things you did, that is why I called you "silly girl". I know I am going to cherish the memories with you forever and years down the road, still be laughing when I think of the silly things you did, as if it were only yesterday they happened.

The Day You Were Born!

August 7, 2011

Mommy has a thyroid condition, & my TSH levels were high my whole pregnancy so it worried your doctor. With high TSH levels it could've had a negative effect on you. On May 12, 2011 I had a doctor appointment with Dr.Crabtree. She did an ultrasound and said you looked healthy and fine, but that she wanted to induce me that following day at 12pm May 13, 2011 to be safe. Mommy was actually prepared this time! I wasn't with your brother. I had everything packed & was ready to go when Aunty Mousie picked me up. I got there & had some paperwork to fill out. I still don't know why, since I was already registered? Paige Levoix, your midwife gave me pitocin to help start my contractions. And man did those come quickly & strongly! Around 4pm, the contractions came about every 10 minutes. My water didn't break on it's own, so Paige broke it for me. That hurt too! Only because my cervix she said was angled and pushed way in the back. About 5pm, the contractions were about 5 minutes apart, 6pm about a minute apart and very close to pushing! Some where between 5-6pm I asked for some pain medication because I was too afraid of the epidural. 7pm the contraction hurt so much and are only seconds apart! My bed is sitting almost upright with me sitting up and pushing. After several attempts at pushing, which to me didn't seem like I was doing too well, the doctor and nurse had asked me to not push. They hadn't told me what was going on, but luckily for me I didn't have the urge to push. So it was like a little break? I didn't know what was going on but they were cutting the cord off from around your neck and didn't tell me till after you were all the way out. After they were done, I was able to push again. Then you were here! They took you away for a few seconds, you weren't crying, or breathing on your own, I was so worried. I still at that point didn't know about the cord around your neck. They got you to breathe and brought you over to me. I was so happy! One of the happiest days of my life! Our family was finally complete.

IT'S A GIRL!

August 7, 2011

I found out you were a girl in December 2010 at my ultrasound appointment in Ukiah. I was so overwhelmed with happiness! I waited almost 5 years for you & there you were in my belly, your heart beating so strong & healthy. I had dreams of you long before you ever came into my life. What a blessing it was that day to hear those words, "it's a girl".
