Sir Augustine Matthias Onyemaechi Nwaeze was born into the family of Chief & Mrs. Matthias Nzekwue Nwaeze of Umuezebo-Ogbowele, Ibusa, in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

He had his primary education at St. Annes Catholic School, Ifuho, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State. He obtained a B.Sc (High Honour) degree in Business Administration in 1979 and Master of Business Administration (MBA), Management in 1980 in Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

 

Academic/Professional Award:

Federal Government Scholarship Award for Undergraduate Studies; American Scholarship Award for Undergraduate Studies; Decosta Award for Post Graduate Studies (USA) 1979; Delta Mu Delta, Certificate of Merit in recognition of service and academic excellence 1978 - 1979.

 

Career History

Sir Nwaeze started his working career at the Nigerian Railway Corporation Enugu and later transfered his service to the Civil Service of the then Bendel State of Nigeria from where he proceeded to the United States of America for further studies. On his return in 1980 from the USA, he worked briefly with the Bendel State Government and retired voluntarily in 1987 as an Administrative Officer. He went into private sector and co-founded Matangel Company - Management Consultants who are dealers in Petroleum Products and Real Estate Developers. He was the Managing Director of this Company. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Kinmason Petroleum & Gas Co. Ltd.

Bendel Steel Company Warri 2005 - 2007     - Member Board of Directors.

Gold Cup Award. Fr. Ojefuas Cup for the most Fraternal Brother of the year 1999/2000, KSM Asaba Sub-Council For being the most charitable Brother 2004/2005 KSM year. Plaque for His invaluable contributions to the growth and progress of the Order, especially the Molumba House Project.

Other Awards:

Patron Award - In recognition of enormous contributions to the Catholic Church and C.W.O in particular by C.W.O, St. Thomas' Parish, Ibusa.

 

Merit Award - For immense contribution towards the Catholic Church and humanity, by Catholic Men Organization of Nigeria, Asaba Region.

He was happily married and blessed with children.
