What a Huge loss to Humanity!

December 8, 2013

My heart bleeds for his family, What a loss! May God grant his wife and children the fortitude to bear the loss.

Deji - you were a great guy, I remember the years we all spent at NNSS. May the Joy you inspired in others never depart your loved ones.

Rest in Peace. The father to the fatherless, Ancient of days will take care of yours.

MY GENTLEMAN ABURO

November 13, 2013

Today is a particularly difficult day for me as we begin a final farewell to a younger brother i consider an humble and a perfect Gentleman. Ayodeji Falae was indeed a perfect Gentleman who interacted with me couple of times, visiting me in the office and calling to check about my welfare. My Late Grandfather was his Mum's Principal at Ibadan Grammar School, His dad was in Igbobi College with my Late dad, two of his older Cousins the Fasonranti twins where a year below me in Government College Ibadan and one of my classmate is also married to his cousin.  The news of his passage was and is still shocking for me, as only a few months ago i saw him with his dad at a function, where we talked about Politics and Life. Who would have thought that was going to be our last interaction as i told him that since his name appeared in the names of Committee of friends along mine for a friend's function we are both now becoming Politicians. His response was ''Egbon won biyi sinu eni oooo ele escape ooo''. Deji had time for anyone who came his way and he will do anything to help those he can.

When i was about 4yrs Old I lost a slightly older relative i was fond of i remember my Late Grandfather who was an Anglican Priest coming back from comforting the family of this relative. My innocent question to my Grandfather then was why did my relative die? and my Grandpa's answer was WE DON'T QUESTION GOD.

Please pray for the Falaes today that the Almighty God who is the only comforter will comfort and be with the family.

AYODEJI OMO FALAE FARE THEE WELL MY PERFECT GENTLEMAN AND FANTASTIC ABURO WE THANK GOD FOR YOU- IT IS WELL!!!

Senior Deji

November 13, 2013

I write this about you not because you can read it (sadly so) but so that anybody that comes across it can know that you meant a lot to so many people in different kinds of ways.

If I recall correctly, I met Deji Falae (Senior Deji like we used to call him) some twenty five odd years ago at NNSS Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria. What I remember most about him from a distance is his neatness at all times. How white his white shirt was, how properly ironed his clothes were, how white his socks were, how neatly polished his sandals were and how gracefully he dressed. You would think with all this, he was just about the appearance. No he wasn’t. As I somehow got to be acquainted with him, I came to know him as a gentle, soft spoken and kind senior. Deji was some years ahead of me in age and I recall some of my encounters with him. His advice on cleanliness , seriousness and kindness to younger ones. I remember how I used to compare his dressing to that of senior Dupe Osilaja and used to wonder how they managed to put it all together. Dressing wise and image wise you could label them GQ men.

I am glad Deji progressed to be the man he was, the kind hearted fellow a lot of us knew him to be and to see that he tried to do his share in the short time he was allowed. However, I am deeply heartbroken he has passed on and I shed tears for the loss of a fine gentleman.

I had hoped he would evolve to become a leading light and part of the cornerstone that would bring the much desired real change to our dear country Nigeria, but for now, it seems my hope would just remain as it is, Hope!!

There is much to be written about our friend and brother, Deji, however I will stop my writing at this point and pray to God to forgive him his short comings and grant him peace and eternal rest .

I pray God in His Infinite mercy would comfort his wife Ese, their children and their loved ones, Amen.

It shall be well with all of us by the grace of God Almighty.
