Still like a dream dad, still trying to grasp the reality of your passing; still waiting and somehow hoping to hear you call my name, ever so lovingly and gently, 'Lola'.

Dad, you were and will still always be my role model. I had always looked up to you as a young girl and even as a grown woman. You taught me the standards of standing up for myself. I will never forget the life-changing legacy you left for me which I am graciously passing to my children and their children's children.

You taught us to be kind and generous. Your lifestyle was that of honesty and self-discipline which you impacted in all of us till date You groomed us to become men and women of integrity.

Dad, your tenacity, strength, doggedness and stamina for life has rubbed off on me so greatly. Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun because we will sing your praises till the end of time.

I miss you and love you all greatly dad but I know for sure that God loves you much more. Rest well dad, you finished your cause!

GOOD MORNING
Dele aka Abela, as he was popularly called by friends and family was born on Monday August 17th, 1953 to the great Idrisu family from Agbo-Ile ODOFIN in Ikirun, Osun Sate.
The father, Pa Abioye Oyewo Idrisu, then an active Soldier serving in the then Nigerian Regiment of the British Army and His mother, Madam Raliatu Abeni Idrisu who was from Mapo, Oyo State. Dele virtually grew up in the strict Military Environment, served in the Cadet Corps of Kings College and was evidently a disciplined gentleman through his life.
Dele attended the IRETI PRIMARY SCHOOL in Ikoyi, Lagos with the likes of Phil Ushie, Ladi Williams, Hauwa Baba-Hameed to mention just a few of them most of whom remained his friends till the end.
Dele proceeded to KINGS COLLEGE, LAGOS in 1967 and completed the secondary school passing with honors in 1971, he continued with the higher School certificate which he completed in 1973. While in the Kings College, Dele was in the forefront of participation in Sports, his Athletics prowess was well displayed, his successes in track events were frequent and cheering him with the name ABELA showing lights to those coming behind. He was a very good Footballer too as he played for his school house, class team, the school team and in fact Lagos state academicals team. He played for Kings College Team that played the finals in the inter Secondary School competition called Academicals in the then new NATIONAL STADIUM in Lagos to the admiration of his friends and family. The photographer of that event was the great Peter Obey and Dele kept those photographs for a long time.

2. GOOD AFTERNOON
Dele’s career started with First Bank Nigeria Limited at the Head Office in Marina, Lagos. He was in the first Division First Bank Football Team with the likes of Late David Oderhowho, Tesho Teslim, Billy Thanni, Alex Egbebune to mention just a few names. He excelled well and was much loved there.
Dele Proceeded to the GREAT YABA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY and studied Business Administration. He joined TEXACO NIGERIA LIMITED and worked in many of the divisions in Lagos and Apapa before being transferred to Ibadan where he rose to become the Area Manager. TEXACO later transferred him to Akure and was the Ondo state Area Manager. Dele enjoyed Ibadan very well and never left it till Goodnight.
Dele Married his love, OMOWUMI ADUROGBOLA in November 1980, she remains the only wife of Dele and she enjoys the privilege of being the mother of all of Dele’s Children. They have four beautiful Children, OLALEKAN, OLUWASEUN, OLUWAFUNMILOLA and AYOMIDE. There are grandchildren, INIOLUWA, from these children and the blessings of God in them.
Dele was a very friendly person, Adorable and Amiable pleasant gentleman. He kept friends and was always positively disposed.
Dele above all was very selfless, he literarily could pluck his eyes out and give them away. He was always ready to help in all circumstances, he was a very cheerful giver. The first apartment Dele bought as a bachelor became abode of his good friends who then cannot afford the high Lagos rents. The foregoing notwithstanding, Dele was very serious minded, determined to succeed in life, he took notice of his surroundings and was detail oriented. He was soft spoken and had a very gentle disposition.
