Barbara Ann Goodgame Wyrick was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She lived a full and happy life, while making a huge impact on those around her through her kindness and generosity.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Grand Prairie ISD Education Foundation in the name of Barbara Wyrick. These donations will be collected as part of an endowment to allow school counselors to continue Barbara’s tradition of gifting a needy school family each Christmas in her memory.

Gifts may be made online at Education Foundation / Foundation Donations (gpisd.org), or mailed by check to GPISD Education Foundation, 2602 S. Beltline Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. In both cases, indicate Barbara Wyrick in the memo.

Barbara was born to William Henry and Anna Burke Goodgame in Fort Worth, Texas, growing up during the Great Depression, which helped build the great strength and resilience that carried her throughout life. After attending Pascal High School, she enrolled at Texas Christian University, and later completed her bachelor's degree at Lamar University.

She was a devout Christian and lifelong Episcopalian who dedicated her life to serving others. She was a caretaker to many, in and outside of her home. Whether it was feeding the homeless at the night shelter, teaching Sunday School or leading a pack of Girl Scouts, she devoted her time to others.

Barbara was a gifted and inspiring educator who taught math/algebra for 32 years at Liberty ISD, Tuloso-Midway ISD, and Lee Middle School in Grand Prairie, Texas. In addition to being a dedicated educator, Barbara spent her time and personal resources to support students and families in need.

A private service is scheduled for family members. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband J. Beryl "Jake" Wyrick. She is survived by her children Beth Morgan, Debbie Renfrew, Thomas Hardaway, Mark Hardaway, Kathy Remell and Peggy Conway, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
