A native of Columbus and the daughter of the late Willie, Jr and Gracie Mae Crayton Johnson, Barbara was born September 28, 1953. She was a 1972 graduate of William H. Spencer High School and obtained her Associates Degree from Phillips Junior College. In the 1980's, she was employed as a Unit Secretary at Hughston Hospital. In later years, she assumed the role of a military wife, mother and home-maker. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cassandra A.J. Gary.
Surviving are a loving and devoted husband of 42 years, 1SGT Retired Herman Farley; her adoring children, Qwana N. Farley, Nakim M. Farley, Herman Farley, Jr and Kyndra T. Farley; nine grandchildren, Shamara Farley, Eric San Nicolas, Jynae San Nicolas, Kamiya San Nicolas, Natoria Chambers, Parrish Farley, Trinity Farley, Tianna Farley and Neena Farley; a sister, Gwendolyn Richmond; a uncle, James "Monk" Johnson(Gwen); two special aunts, Selena J. Jones and Annie F. Crayton; a sister-in-law, Gracie F. Calloway; and a host of nieces, nephews,other aunts , uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
