Her Life

My Mom; since 1977

August 22, 2016

My mom was great, beautiful, funny, amazing and wonderful. She was so many more things as well. She loved camping and spending time with her friends on Fridays and Saturdays and she loved her grandchildren very much! She loved her sisters and she would have done anything for them and her nieces and nephews. My mom loved to smile and have a great time.

She graduated from Owen J. Roberts in Bucktown, PA in 1973 where she participated in marching band on the color guard team and absolutely loved it. My mom saw to it that I myself also participated on the flag's team from 6th grade to graduation, LOL. After graduation, she continued to go to ALL the football games with her oldest sister Mary whether the game was home or away, rain or shine. The dedicated Wildcat fan that she was had the motivation to attend all football games up until she could no longer walk the bleacher steps. From then on, every Thanksgiving Day morning, the radio was tuned in to the "big game!" She would play that radio so loud! You literally could hear her cheering "GO, GO, TOUCH DOWN! WWWHHHOOOAAAA" from the street! She loved her Wildcats!

Although my mom had many health problems, Chronic Asthma and Rheumatoid Arthritis were her toughest battles! She was in and out of the hospital since I was about 11 years old making it quite difficult to mind us girls (3 total) while my father worked. Thankfully we had very supportive family members who would care for us until mom was discharged from the hospital until the next time she was admitted. I am very grateful for all the help my mom's sisters and my grandmother did to help my mom & dad make sure we were taken care of while they couldn't be there!

Losing my mother in 2009 IS the greatest loss I personally have endured. After almost 7 years, there still isn't a day I don't think about her and wish she were here with us! I have to remind myself that she is in a much better place where she is no longer suffering. I know I'm selfish for wishing her back here especially since 2 of her sisters, her parents and even my baby girl Genesis Rebecca are with her there.

So, I'll wait my turn to be reunited with her one day. Believe me, I have so much to talk to her about! Until then, I will stay here and hang out with my dad and sisters.

All My Love...
