One of my favorite memories is the chair incident.

I was on the beach and Barb came by on her way to her jet ski. I insisted she take my chair. She declined and continued to talk. Finally I made her take my chair. She sits down and the whole things breaks apart and she falls to the ground. The look on her face instilled fear in my heart. We laughed everytime we saw each other that summer. She swore I planned it.

All was well with the world when Carol and I were on our floats, Linda heading out on her boat and Barb going to meet her on the jet ski. The little things in life that make that moment perfect.

Linda I am so sorry for your loss.

My big sister

December 15, 2012

One day i went to the hill above our home to sleigh ride, when I got there there was a pack of mongrels waiting to pick on smaller children.
i was the child they chose.  i went home and Barb was sitting at the table she knew a unhappy face when she saw one and asked, whats wrong.
It took about one second and she was out the door this girl of 15, with me in tow.
When we got to the top of the hill she asked which ones it was, the three boys were all near her age but certainly no match for Barbs sence of whats right and what is wrong.
Never in my young life had I ever seen a call to action like this the lads never new what happened, It seems after that there was no more problems on the hill for anyone. My big sister so calm and demure had a power inside nobody could imagine.

Barb also tought me to throw a ball, she must have played a lot of ball when she was young because even with a mit on that girl could set your hand to stinging and put it right to ya.

Even though Barb was not born into the family she was a welcomed gift to us all.

She was as much of a hero as any kid could ask for.
