She married her soulmate and partner for life, the late Dennis Carl Makowski, at 21. She had battled Parkinson's Disease for the last twelve years. But that never stopped her from giving hugs, witty comments, and love. She passed in her home in peace, surrounded by her children Kevin, Andrea, Jennifer, significant others, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Jean, best friend of forty years, and loved ones.
Barbara was very crafty and created clothes for everyone, and she loved ceramics, crocheting, and sewing. Her hands were rarely still. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Barbara treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Yia-Yia. She is loved and well missed and favorite phrase “Good and You.”
