Barry Johnson, 76, passed away on June 9, 2017.  He fought a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.  He was the oldest of three brothers and was born in Kenmare, ND on December 6, 1940.  He spent his childhood in Williston ND.  During his youth, he enjoyed many activities and became an Eagle Scout.  Barry spent four years in the Air Force and was stationed in Louisiana and England.  He then began college at the University of North Dakota and earned his PhD in Psychology.  While at college, he met Laverne Steinert and they married in 1966.  Barry and LaVerne have two sons: Andrew and Christopher.

Barry had an entrepreneurial spirit and operated an antique business for 25 years.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, and especially playing with his granddaughters.  He had a strong faith and was involved in his church.  Barry was a humble man of many interests and a lifelong scholar.

Barry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He felt blessed and grateful that he could live life to the fullest.  His sense of humor, positive outlook, support of others, love, faith, vocabulary, and energy will be greatly missed.
