ADIUE! B. B. DUKAS
Beatrice my friend, confidant and my sister from another Edo mother.
Your death has left me devastated and empty. I remember meeting you 43yrs ago at First Bank ObunEko where you served as my immediate boss, but due to your simplicity & humility, three of us became friends nicknamed THE THREE-MUSKETEERS.
I thank God for your exemplary life which is worth emulating.
You were a wonderful, kindhearted, loving ,caring woman but topmost, Honest and transparent . You were ready to sacrifice your comfort for the need of others, as such you were always ready to help. You served effortlessly as philanthropist. I cannot recount how many charity work she cajoled me into partnering in for orphans & widows.
Bea was a silent giver and an unrecognized *MOTHER THERESA * of our Nation. Although quick to anger, she was also quick to forgiving.
Beatrice, was an awesome woman with a GOLD HEART
Beautiful inside Out.
If I should continue to write your attributes my pen will stop flowing.
May God in His infinity mercy grant you eternal peaceful rest ,forgive all your mistakes both known, unknown & also admits you into paradise where you will reign with your Lord Jesus Christ your savior. Amen.
Edward, God will be with you and your family. Dukas Asuelimen Family, I greet you all, I can feel your pains. The Vacuum that Beatrice left behind will be too hard to fill, but I pray that God should grant you fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
To all friends she left behind we are ONE FAMILY before Bea’s demise, let us always remember her and the Children she left behind in our daily prayers. I pray that we shall all live up to old age . Olorun ko ni se iku Beatrice ni akufa larin wa .Aamiin.
Beatrice (Iya Eddy)sleep on my beloved friend, & Sister .
ITS VERY HARD FOR ME TO BID YOU GOOD BYE !

As I pick my phone to write this tribute, I break down again. I am shattered by your passage. How could you go like that...without saying goodbye? I can actually say I feel so bad because I may have taken you for granted, thinking you will be with us for a very long time. Scripture says the Lord gives and He takes, Blessed be the Name of the Lord. I thank God for your life.
I was blessed to have spent my early adult years with you from youth service in Lagos. You were bold, fearless, honest, unwavering in your convictions, you were a disciplinarian who would scold and shout one minute and chuckle the next, and yes, you were kind, generous, an encourager, fiercely loyal to all you hold dear, a mother hen and a true catholic to the core. Oh! you were bubbly, happy, the life of any gathering, an organiser,no dull moment with Aunty 'Bee' ( in my mind). I still hear that infectious laughter in my mind and feel that keen look through your glasses.
I remember how you would always enquire after every member of my family and how you so wanted to hear good news all the time. And you were so proud of us as your dear cousin Lawrence's children. You would say Ha! Your father would have been so proud to see you all like this. You had a beautiful heart. Indeed you epitomize for me the saying 'beautiful in and out'
In the promises of the Beatitudes of our Lord Jesus I find solace for you aunty Beatrice, because the Lord promised
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.

May you find merciful judgement aunt Beatrice and rest peacefully in the Lord. Amen.
Will miss you dearly.
Adieu dear Aunt B.

Aunty Bea, you were such a great Aunty and a good Godmother, your kindness &
words of advice were second to none. You made sure I became a very good Catholic that I am today. Your encouragement in my secular world made me the man I am today. I am going to miss you, but my consolation is the fact that while with us, you lived to the dictates of your faith. I can still hear your words ….”(don’t worry everything will be okay)” and really everything became okay. I am very confident all the angel and saints are rejoicing for they have you in their midst. Goodbye for now until we meet to part no more.

*My tribute*

You were a true mother to many, a uniter, a selfless helper, to all the needy, an angel in disguise.  You have touched lives and brought hope to so many than you can ever imagined. A rallying point for all. You epitomizes real Love. You will be greatly missed. We love you but God love you more. Rest in peace, Aunty B.

Aunty B as she was fondly called always had a distinctive benevolent smile which animated every conversation she impacted with her rich repository of local and global affairs and trends. She was a rare gem with a heart of gold and extremely generous in giving, mercy, service, organizing, hospitality. She was always happy to introduce me to her friends and curious family members as “Brother Lawrence daughter “ during my Law school program in 1987 when she dutifully and happily took me into her care, housing and feeding me that entire period.
Aunty B was relentless in caring, giving, mentoring others and cared little for her own comfort living a simple life. She was an immaculate eagle that flew touching and changing lives for good and left a legacy that will remain indelible in our hearts. May her gentle soul Rest In Peace and awaken to glory on the day of the Lord’s coming.

My Aunty B,
A symbol of strength and courage
That thread that binds many together
A giver, your generosity was impeccable
A good counsellor and sure confidant
A blanket in The Cold
My action Mama (lol)

My Aunty B,
The pillar and rock anyone can confidently lean on
The mender of many broken hearts,
The helper of the needy
The voice of the timid
Selfless; beautiful in and out
A shaper and refiner

My Aunty B,
You will forever remain in my heart where no harm can ever reach you.
I somehow wish I can be told that the news of your demise is only an expensive joke.
Anyways, heaven needs you and I miss You
Love You Forever My Aunty B.

My Aunty B,
May God accept your beautiful soul, amen.

Toyin Jegede.

There are people that God made specially to bless and change destinies positively , Aunt Bea was one of such. An angel with a large heart, a mother, grand, aunt, friend, sister, philanthropist, a destiny helper , among many other things.
Her death is still like a bad dream that am yet to wake up from. Her death can be liken to the fall of an iron tree. The fall of the mighty, the convener , the organiser, the dispute resolutor, prayer warrior, I can go on forever.
She was an iroko.
Aunty, I love you and will always cherish your memory. It was an honour to be your daughter and I pray your soul rest in peace. Amen.
