Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

June 28, 2011

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace.
When there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
When there is doubt, faith.
When there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master; grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, and it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

When I'm Gone

June 28, 2011

When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and only remember the smile!

Forget unkind words I have spoken, remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I've had loads of fun.

Forget that I've stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way.

Remember that I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day.

Then forget to grieve for my going. I would not have you sad for a day. But in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay.

And come in the shade of evening when the sun paints the sky in the west. Sand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best.
