Beleta Lyneé Rush, the daughter given by the Lord to Dr. Lionel T. Rush and Elect Lady Beleta A. Butts, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 7, 1972 and went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2011.  The span of her earthly pilgrimage was 39 years, 11 months and 14 days.   Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with the Savior she faithfully served.

Beleta grew up in a musical family and attended True Victory Church of God in Christ (pastored by her father, Dr. Lionel T. Rush) in Indianapolis, Indiana, during her formative years. Lynn was a member of the Sunshine Band. She was later the choir president of the Pastor’s Choir which went on to win choir of the year in the 1988 Mc -Donald’s Gospelfest. Beleta was saved, baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Ghost, at Christ Apostolic Temple, Des Moines, Iowa (pastored by Presiding Bishop Jeremiah Reed) July 2004. She served faithfully as a choir member, singer/songwriter, and choral section leader.  Whether it was Indianapolis or Des Moines Lynn was known for calling from her hospital bed and letting you know if you were off your note.

Beleta, affectionately known as Lynn, graduated from Lawrence North High School, Indianapolis, Indiana (Class of 1992) while dually attending Martin University, Indianapolis, Indiana (Business Major).  Beleta worked along with her sisters at INET for the city of Indianapolis and was featured in the movie, “Endangered Species.”  In addition to music, Beleta loved spending time with her family and friends, working on art projects, scrapbooking, and nurturing children.  She is known by her niece Sydney and her nephew Marcus as “The Best Auntie”, to her sisters she was “The Best Big Sister in the World”, and by everyone else as, “The Boss or Mother”.

“Lynn- Lynn” spent her life bringing people together.  She was unselfish until the last moments of her life where she was found giving instructions, guidance, and loving words to her family and friends from her hospital bed.  There will never be another Lynn Rush.  Her life was filled with miracles as she “Hung in There and Kept Hope Alive” until the very end.  For her life, her love, and her song we say “To God Be the Glory!”.
