BJ's Life

April 26, 2014

Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend and teacher Belinda Jane Hall went to live with Jesus on April 18, 2014 at the age of 45. Belinda was born April 27, 1968 in Pueblo, Colorado to Charles Glenn, Sr. and Sandra Marie (Oglesby) Hall. Soon the family moved to Julesburg, CO where they lived until 1976 and then moved to Fairbank, IA. While living there the entire family was involved in a Bible-based, puppet show ministry, “Children’s Christian Workshop,” traveling to 44 states, Canada and Mexico in a converted greyhound bus for five years. In 1984 they moved to Houston, TX where her Dad was called to teach at Lutheran High North.

Belinda graduated from Lutheran High North in 1987 and graduated from Concordia University, in Seward, Nebraska in 1994. She majored in Psychology and Elementary education with an Art concentration. She began her teaching career teaching 3rd and 4th grades at St. John Lutheran School in Houston. In 1997 she moved to Giddings, TX where she taught 2nd grade and coached “Art Smart” for the private school interscholastic association. She began teaching at Memorial Lutheran School in 2000 where she taught Pre-Kindergarten and art for the entire school. She was an active member at Memorial Lutheran Church, Houston, TX, being involved with LWIM and Bell Choir. Belinda knew everyone, not only the students but the school parents too, always greeting them with a friendly smile.

Belinda had a great love for children, and always dealt with them patiently. She loved art and helping children develop that artistic spark. She stated, “I believe as a teacher I am in the classroom not only to teach curriculum but to also teach children responsibility and self-reliance in a safe and nurturing environment. With self-reliance also comes a sense of accomplishment and good self-esteem.”

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Chuck and Sandi, brother Charles Hall Jr. and wife Mary and niece Rachel, sister Freddie and husband Trevor Holman, niece Zoe Marie, and nephew Lance Christian. Aunt Billie and Roger Petersen, Uncle Bill and Nancy Hall, Aunt Alta and Terrel Davenport, Uncle John and Sharon Hall, and many cousins, friends and colleagues.

Belinda was preceded in death by: Grandparents, Rolland and Winifred Mae (Lichtenberger) Oglesby of York, NE and William Benton and Geneva (Taylor) Hall of Pueblo, CO.
