Ben, I will always remember your cheerfulness and humor. You had a contagious laugh and it seemed like no matter what, you found joy in what the day brought. We were so blessed to have you as a friend at Tri City—you always had our best interests at heart and you were truly a breath of fresh air. I am so blessed to have had the honor of knowing you and your family practically my whole life. I promise to be there for your daughter whenever she needs a friend to lean on. She’s an amazing woman and friend, and I know you went to be with our Lord with confidence that there is an army of people praying for your loved ones.

Ah, Ben, We will miss your smile and your humor. If ever there was a man to leave a large hole in our lives and tug on our hearts it is you.
A Poem for You Ben
As I lay under the large oak tree,
I look up at the sky through its canopy,
The branches stretching tall and wide
Protecting us with strength and pride,
This tree was here for many years,
To our troubles, it listened with all ears,
Its roots provided a place to rest,
Always welcomed any guest,
Its trunk had heart, so large and kind,
To its generosity, we paid no mind,
As a sapling, it was so tiny and small
And yet now has grown so special to us all,
The tree now gone, leaves a gaping hold,
But acorns start to fulfill their role
A sapling comes in tiny and small,
The tree's new life begins in awe.

Just like that tree, our Ben was here,
His love for us was always clear,
Protecting us with strength and pride,
His conviction to Christ was always his guide.
he held us close for many years,
to our troubles, he listened with all ears,
His home was always a place to rest,
He always welcomed any guest,
A man who's heart was always kind,
It's generosity he made no mind,
His life began so tiny and small,
Yet he has grown so precious to all,
Our Ben now gone, leaves a gaping hole,
Wonderful memories fulfill their role,
In heaven, he is so tiny and small,
His new life with Christ begins in awe ♥

Well Ben, I know you are peace. I will miss my time with you making those appointments. You were a celebrity at Kaiser. You knew everyone in the place and they were always happy when you were around. Rest In Peace my friend.

Ben was a great co-worker and friend. He was the bus driver for my school. During the summer, Ben would drive for our Summer Camp program. He was always so upbeat and positive although even back then he had physical challenges. He never complained. He got a kick out of the kids. His love for Jesus was always evident. As we would pull back onto the campus in the bus, he would stop every time and lead all the kids in a big THANK YOU, JESUS, for bringing us back safely. After that, a group of fellow co-workers and former co-workers would get together occasionally to celebrate our friendships. People would always flock around Ben to listen to what he had to say. Ben was a blessing to all of us. He will be greatly missed. He has no more pain and is probably dancing with the Savior. Dance on, my friend.

Rachel, I only met your father about once. However, that first impression of him held so much kindness, generosity, and love that he had for you and your family. He was very proud of you! He will be greatly missed. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Jones! I remember you always so happy and upbeat around campus when I was in high school! You zoomed around campus on your scooter saying Hello! so cheerfully to everyone or drove us kids in the school bus to all our field trips and sports games. What a faithful servant you were and someone to brighten the day to anyone you came in contact with. I cannot picture you in my mind without a huge smile on your face (and I know now, his smile is eternal and even deeper as he's in the presence of His Father!). Even when you were fighting a tough battle with cancer the last few years, your spirit did not waver in your joy and energy for life. What a testimony that is alone.
Rachel, I know that you adored your Dad, and his exuberance for life was just as present in you too! The world could use more people like your family, and I'm so blessed to have known you all :). Praying and thinking of you in this time.

Ben was the bus driver for all my school trips and summer day camps as a kid. He was more than just that, Ben was family and we loved him like family. I used to sit up front so I could talk with him or laugh about something that happened that day. I’m very happy my family got to see him more recently before he passed. We took him to and from a few appointments this last year and got to laugh and talk like before. I even joked “Hey Ben after all these years of driving me, here I am driving you around!” I’d like to think that when my time comes Ben will be waiting to drive me there just like he did before. Thank you Ben for everything.

Dearest sweet Rachel and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I know the pain you are going through and it is so rough. You have to keep thinking that he is out of his pain and in Gods loving hands now. Rejoice! Your dad, Ben, Ben the bus driver, that crazy guy... So many years working with him, riding his bus and going to all the summer day camp field trips. He was a HOOT that man was. Never did I see him without a smile on his face or a funny joke or saying he always had to share. Such fond memories of him behind that wheel of his buses. I thank you for sharing him with all of us for so many years, I know how proud he was of you girls and how much he loved you so much. May God bless you all in this really hard time.
Love and hugs, Mrs Terri

My dear friend Rachel, and beautiful family, I'm so sorry for your great loss. I can't imagine the pain of losing a father. May all his pain be lifted and may he rest in peace alongside God and the Angels. I send you lots of love and prayers and my deepest condolences.

My deepest condolences Rachel, Mrs. Jones, and family.
My heart aches for you and your family as you take the time now to say “see you later” to such a loving and strong man.
I wasn’t able to known your father for too long, but I can tell how much he was loved, and how many lives he touched. Even meeting him for the first time, I felt a familiarity. I felt like I’ve met him a thousand times before, and his genuine love radiated through his beautiful smile and warm laugh. At that moment I knew he was a one of a kind man; a sweet soul anyone would be blessed to have crossed paths with.
I am so sad to hear about his passing, and all the pain you and your family have to go through at this time; but I pray that God will cover you with peace and love and know that your dad is no longer in pain. Your dad is probably riding his motorcycles up in heaving, smiling, laughing, and watching out for you and your family.
Remember that your dad is always going to be with you, he will never stop loving you, your mom, and everyone in your family. And when the time comes, you all will be reunited with him once again. Take time to cry and grieve, but also remember to rejoice in all the great things your dad has done in his life. And one day your “see you later dad” will turn into a “hello again”. He loves you all so much, and always will.

My father was an amazing man. A Godly man who befriended everyone. He was always with the dad jokes bringing laugher in all circumstances. He loved Jesus Christ with his everything and this was an inspiration to me. He truly lived out what he believed. His stubborn determination and prayers had him live longer than humanly possible. My dad was the strongest man I have ever known. I am thankful he fought so hard for us. The life that he lived here on earth is a testimony of God's faithfulness. Jesus saved him from death multiple times. Now he is celebrating with Him in heaven.

I miss him every day. The way he showed unconditional love to me. It was extremely hard to watch him take his last breath at home. There is comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and no longer needing to fight.

I love my daddy forever.

His Life

His Love for God

May 20, 2020
Ben was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He loved Jesus will all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. The light of Christ clearly shown through Ben, no matter the circumstance. His faith was central to his life, and he demonstrated daily the love God gives us all. He was always helping people in need.

Ben found his foundation with his personal relationship with Jesus Christ in his early thirties, from then on was a dedicated follower of Christ, and his love for God became the true purpose of his life.

The true desire of his heart would be that all men and women would have a personal relationship with Jesus.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one of only Son that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life."

A Great Time With a Great Man

May 27, 2020
My first big fun outing with With the man that would be my father in-law was a gun show at the fairgrounds. I had wanted to go to one for some time, so I was really excited to finally check it out. We woke up early, and took his truck all the way down to San Diego. I had a such a great time, but what was amazing was that so many of the vendors knew him like an old friend. He would be cruising around, and than say hello to them as we went by, or chat with them for while. The guy was well liked among all that were there. Even at the food court, or especially there, he had friends, and knew exactly where to get the best grub (that smoked beef was amazing). Through it all, I knew it wasn't easy for him to go out there, but he liked it so much, and remained in amazing spirits the whole time. I could see that this was a guy that wasn't gonna let anything stop him from having a great life. I will never forget him nor the strength and positivity he showed.

Let's Go

May 27, 2020
I had the privilege of meeting Ben Jones when my sons were playing sports at Tri-City Christian school. Ben was the one faithfully driving the sports teams to away games as well as driving to other special school events. I remember his joy and big personality overflowing from his love for the Lord. Even though we prayed for safe trips, I felt good knowing Ben was behind the wheel. I knew he really loved the students. Well, after my kids graduated I would only see Ben occasionally at games and special events at Tri-City. Fast forward to the recent past few months. I had the opportunity to drive Ben to various doctor appointments several times. It was so funny because he would tell me to "step on it" and direct me into the lane that would get us to Kaiser the quickest. I think he was wishing he was still driving the "bus". I went along with it even though I tried to drop in the fact that I had been a FedEx driver for 24 years! It didn't  matter. His attitude was let's get there, do our business, and get back to livin'. But while he was in the lab or office, he was friends with everyone. He seemed to sense his days were numbered and wanted the most out of each encounter. Ben had a zest for life and he has faithfully answered the final call... "Let's go".
