There are no words I can write to say how much of a good man you are, treating me as a grandson the moment we met, helping me smile and being a true role model, I will always remember the times we had, either it be me accidently spilling chilli for church in your truck and you making sure i was ok then cleaning out the truck, or the rides to church every sunday, and recently watching a Chiefs game, I miss those times and will forever cherish them.

Paul and David I was so sad to hear about your dad. He had come out to CCC right before I retired and it was so good to see him again. He had helped me a lot after I bid on operator. When I first hired in at CCC (1974) I had your dad as a supervisor and I was literally afraid of him. Not that he was mean but very stern, funny to think of now because he was one of my favorite bosses. I look at it this way, I have another angel on my side watching over me. Prayers and God bless to all the family.

The World Has Lost A Hero!

It has been an extremely rough, weary, and emotional winter. As I write the final page of a new book, my father passes into the night quietly with his family next to him in our home.

The last 8 days have been enormously painful to see a man (who has given everything to anyone who needed anything) suffer from starvation and seizures. He had Parkinson's and could no longer swallow.

We held his hand, snuggled with him, sung to him, and told him how much he was loved every hour of every night and day. We NEVER left his side. He would have done the same for us, and MORE.

I don't know why such a great Dad should go through such a torturous death, but that's not for me to decide. It will be very tough to get those images out of my mind for the next several decades, if ever. I will struggle with why he had to go through this.

He's left an enormous hole in my heart that will take many years to heal. It'll leave a huge scar, just a reminder of of how big he was.

The good thing is that it's finally over. He is at rest and he has won the battle.
I would not be the husband, father, writer, or gardener I am today without the talks and the example my parents showed me. I dedicate this book to him. I wouldn't have written it if he hadn't passed that torch to me as a kid growing up on a one acre garden.

Goodbye faithful husband, son, brother, servant, friend, employee, and dad. Goodbye my HERO!

I hope to touch your face and hold your hand someday once again and, this time, tell you how much I REALLY love you with no-holds-barred. I'm sorry for the things I put you through, but I now know, that's just what dads do.
See you soon, Dad

~Pauly Piccirillo, your son

His Life

A Faithful Husband, Brother, Dad, Employee, Servant & Friend. In other words, A Hero!

March 5, 2021
Benjamin Piccirillo was a faithful husband to Linda Piccirillo for 54 years. Their life together will never be matched as they served God and grew into a tower of blessing for many friends, families, and strangers.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, his sister Carol Confer, and brother Adam Piccirillo. Benjamin's children are David, Paul, and Faith Piccirillo. He taught them more than they'll ever remember, just by example.

His employment to Continental Can Company (ccc, now Altium) in Lenexa Kansas in the plastic's industry, lasted 50 years. He was the process engineer. His service, dedication, and record may never be matched. He was called and called into work many times for several hours (off shift). He was the "Process Man" and "The Doctor" and the only one to always wear his lab coat too. He was more than a supervisor and much like a father figure to many employees, and anyone who ever sought his wisdom and expertise, even outside the company.

His servitude, was first, to his Creator who made him the man he was. It was the reason he did everything for everyone expecting nothing in return. It was his calling and ministry.

If you were his friend, you were family. If you weren't, then you still had a place to stay as Ben and Linda opened there home to scores of people who were down and out. He was caring, sharing, and giving of money, time, energy, and a good talkin' to.

This is the definition of a Hero. This was Benjamin Piccirillo, a Warrior, Fighter, and Italian Stallion to the very end. Rest in Peace "Sonny". You fought hard, brave, and you WON!

Home is calling.

I remember the first time that I was aware of Ben at Kerr plastic co.  I was at my table (it was more like a big wagon) i was so far behind on doing my job.  The table was full the bottles were running over n falling on the floor.  Ben was the machine operator and was responsible for me n the line.  I was hurrying with all my might trying at least not to let any bottles fall on the floor.  I was only 15 which the friend that got me a job there said oh they missed up on her card.  I'll fix that n changed my age to 18.
It was a loud fractory.  I was singing very loud (hyms).  He would run back n forth from working on on the machine n the bottles then back to my table.  He said I see you like to sing.  By the end of summer  I  thought it was really neat thing to have a man like me.  The next summer i was back there and that guy was still there. He would still help me with my bottles.  He would give me hints of how to stay on top n not get behind.  He was a really sweet, nice, kind guy.  I  liked him.  Nexed summer I was aloud to date.  I  did have other boy friends and we got to do things like going to the school dances n etc.  We had a friend that we both knew to ask me if I would go to a  party with him.  I had to ask my daddy if i could go out with him.  Later i told him I couldn't go out with him unless he went to church with me.Then we started dating n getting  serious. One night while I  worked the 2nd shift, my sister Garnet dragged him to church where he asked Jesus into his heart.  He asked me to marry him on graduation night. I was concerned about how serious he was with the Lord.  I told him I  wanted to be a missionary.  He said can't we be missionaries in our own back yard.  After a few weeks  I said  yes.  It wasn't until last night that I realized all through the 54+ yrs, we were missionaries. There was hardley a time that we didn't have many somebodies living with us n even families living wih us.  He fulfilled his promise to me of being missionaries in our own backyard.
