Bennie Leonard Hartman Sr., 84, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
He was born February 6, 1934 in Lincoln County to the late William Walden Hartman and Mattie Mozell Bost Hartman. Mr. Hartman was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the Federal Prison as a Correctional Counselor. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor by Rev. Bernard Mitchell. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Hartman of Newton Grove; a son, William W. Hartman of South Carolina; five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jackson Hartman; two sons, Bennie Hartman, Jr., Michael Hartman and a great granddaughter, Maggie Johnson.
