In loving memory of my daddy. The man who taught me from a tender age that I am a pearl, and the world is my oyster. Miss you dearly.

I Only Met Beresford Once.

March 22, 2015

Hello all,

My Grandmother Mavis took me on a trip to Jamaica when I was quite young, about 9 years old. I met many of my relatives, including my Grandfather, Beresford, & I've never forgotten him. I'm sure I also met Minette (Nettie), & perhaps some of their children?

I'd love to hear from anyone who'd like to get in touch.

Best wishes, Zoe.

A poem for my father....

January 20, 2014

DAD

For all the things you taught me
Which I hope to pass on to my own
For the care and shelter you gave me
While going down life’s bumpy road

For the support and encouragement
The unconditional love you displayed
For the discipline and critiquing
Your experiences you freely shared

I knew that one day you would depart
But that knowledge no solace gave
For when I, that dreaded call answered
The news bore a hole in my heart.

My memories are many
I often smile through the tears
When I recall your classic phrases
Or remember a thought you expressed

One day we’ll see each other
You will welcome me with open arms
You my father, I your daughter
Safely home at last.
