Bernard Kasango, a father, friend, mentor, and most of all an advisor. He was always jovial, and loved all around him. I knew him as a loving Grandfather being Uncle to Scolastica Ndunge(Ndila's third born) , and last born of the late Norman Kasango( whom I was named after). He was always there for all and assisted in any was he could especially his nieces My Mum and her elder sister. We have lost a great pillar of the Kasango Family. R. I. P Babu Bernard.

You were a shining star , who always brightened our lives . We will miss your smile and compassion. Go well Uncle Bernad (with an uppercase "U"). May your memories be a blessing to the family and all of us who had the privilege of living with you .

Around 1973/74, we were made homeless in Mombasa,(my mum is Justina Nthumbi Mua- daughter of Ndila - first born of Kassango and Bernard 's elder sister).
Bernard Kassango took us all in, 5 of us, into his two bedroom house in Magongo ,which he shared with Tony Wambua,if I recall correctly, for about 2/3 months, until Mathee found a place of our own to live in.We visited when he moved to Shimanzi and started a family. He was truly family and a decent man. May the Almighty Rest his Soul in Peace.

Uncle Bernard assisted me move house from Mtopanga to Mwembe Tayari when I was new to Mombasa for my first job in 2007. Always greatful for that.
Eternal rest, grant to Uncle Bernard Oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen
