Carlene Parker - True LightMother Kilgore was a blessing to be around. Her gentle and caring spirit was contagious. As I held her hand several times during alter prayer, I could sense the meekness and loving spirit she carried and could see how it made it easier for Vivian to take care of her the way she did. And boy! When I first heard Mother Kilgore sing! What power and energy in praising the Lord!! All we could do was smile and join in! Sitting by the organ... proudly smiling and enjoying Vivian play.... grateful to have had such a full life!

I have known Sister Kilgore since the early seventies from church at Bishop Boone’s church where she was the secretary! I remember her and her husband for being sharp as a tact. She had an sweet personality and didn’t meet no strangers, she always would give me a big hug and kiss made me feel special whenever I seen her. I always loved her smile and especially her singing.I’m going to miss her ! But won’t forget her! My condolences to The Whole Family! I love y’all!

Even though I only knew her a short time..(True Light MB Church) she showed me a genuine love, a contagious smile, and always complimented my appearance. She hugged and kissed me everytime we crossed paths, and she dubbed me "her boy". I will miss her spirit and the way she loved singing Praises to God. May God bless you all (family) and keep you strong..Mother is resting now...

Well,son, I’ll tell you:
Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.
It’s had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor--
But all the time
I’se been a-climbin’ on
And reachin’ landin’s,
And turnin’ corners,
And sometimes goin’ in the dark
Where there ain’t been no light.
So boy, don’t turn your back.
Don’t set down on the steps
‘Cause you finds it’s kinder hard.
Don’t you fall down now--
For I’se still goin’, honey,
I’se still climbin’,
And life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.
