I remember planning Mama and PaPa's 50th Suprised Wedding Anniversary. It was such a joy. Mama's Brothers and their wives from California came (Uncle Roy & Aunt Althea, Uncle Will & Aunt Nan). Aunt Dot and Willie came from New Orleans. Missouri and James came from Ville Platte. Her brothers Uncle Clarence and Uncle Carlton was there. My dad sisters and they husbands came from Houston Aunt Bell & Uncle Parish, Aunt Lucille & Uncle John. There were so many people there. Mama and PaPa renewed their vows. It was so touching and funny at the same time, because my husband (Rev. William Yancy) was asking them if they promise to keep loving each other and going through the whole ceremony and every time he needed a response from Mama she would say that's right that's what the good book says. They were so suprised, we realized that maybe we should have told them, because seems like my mom was going to have a heart attack, she kept seeing people that she hadn't seen in a long time, and when she saw her brothers from California she almost passed out. She kept asking if she was dreaming or if it was real. My dad was surprised too, but he was cool with it. But Mom's emotions were very high. To top it all off the grandchildren all song a song "God Has Smiled On Me", and William and I song a duet " I Don't Feel Noways Tired". I think that was one of the highlights of their lives and ours to.
One of My Fondest Memories,
